RIAA that is...

so they sue you, if you do not have anything, what will they get? a jugement? big fucking deal...

My house is in my GF's name, so is my car, and anything else of value. I figured if I get sued for something related to my business... all my valuables are protected.

So, they find an mp3 or so... they sue me, win, how are they going to collect their 150,000 per violation from me? Is there going to be an MP3 prison?

Fuck these assholes!!!!! Spy on me and invade my "personal" computer... Yes, that's right... personal... meaning not for your eyes you hacking son of a bitches!!!!

Over half of the mp3 I have ever downloaded were total fucking crap... people do not know how to use their computers or demo software... granted I have come accross some real good ones... but it's a crap shoot.

Another problem is that most of the time, you download something with one title and it ends up being something else altogether...

I tried downloading T3 a couple of times... one was some French movie, another was 40 days and 40 nights and the 3rd attempt ended up being Almost Famous.

Most lawsuits would be filed with "Jane Doe" as a defendant in a case like yours since you are deliberately attempting to conceal your assets. This enables your wife, girlfriend, etc. to get nailed as well.

???? and they would know this how? How would they know what was mine, hers or ours?

They cannot sue an innocent person, a person who has never downloaded anyting in her life?

Besides, I am not hiding anything... I have just been too busy to get an LLC. But we are talking two different issues.. one business and one personal.

So again, if it is my computer, how would she even be involved in the except it is her house that is occured in? I mean I would not be stupid enough to state in a courtroom that I put everything into someone elses name to avoid being sued.

NB, good attorneys do their investigative homework before they figure out who to sue. They'll know your underwear size and your girlfriends too. LOL

They sure can sue an innocent person if she is holding assets derived from your income.

The lawsuit would have your name and either her name or Jane Doe which they often use for a person in the same residence or connected to you financially.

Trust me... people steal from me all the time... they resell my scripts on these fucking free sites like angelfire at a lower price. Granted they are easy enough to get shut down... but from the time the set up shop till the time I find them and shut them down does damage....

No, I don't agree with stealing... I have downloaded a couple of mp3's and movies... more because I wanted to hear some samples before I spend good $$ on a crappy CD or DVD.

But we are talking record companies that make millions off other peoples talent and treat the talent like shit.... vs a small time programmer with 5 scripts for sale.

I am just saying... if I have nothing.. what can they do to me?

Whats wrong with crediting an artist on his/her hardwork?

Sure the mega record label companies suck but the fact remains that the produced work is ultimatly a creation of the artist(s)
Whether or not you heard the song on TRL or somthing lame.

Your feeding the parasite and the artist when ya buy a CD from any label but none the less both label and artist need one another to have any impact on todays uneducated masses.

Some labels I do not mind buying from because the artists they produce are Kick ass. Death Row comes to mind for example.

But stealing a work is stealing a work if ya never bought the CD to an artist you like.
Why ya rip someone off that has made you feel something or just made the day a little easier with there work and words?

I for one am glad that the labels are now taking action.
