how fast is MySQL ??
hey guys,
just wondering how fast is MySQL ... I've mainly used file system and not database so I'd like to know which one is faster and uses lower server resources... thanks

Im not an expert on this but mysql can easily handle anything that the standard webmaster needs.
If you need a more robust database with aditional features I would suggest Postgresql other wise mysql will do the job. Aaron Mc

As far as databases go, MySQL is one of the fastest. Most definitely not one of the most stable databases, and it lacks quite a few more advanced options, but it is fast.
Whether you need a database or not depends on what you want to do though. Can't really say anything about that without knowing what it is you want to do.
