Fantastic News For Women! :)

The FDA just approved Seasonale, which cuts down the frequency of a woman having her "Period" from once a month to once every 3 months.

Actually that's even more fantastic news for us guys!

PMS is a myth. It only exists in "some" western cultures.

It has gotten to the point where PMS is both positive and negative reinforcement, which only further helps perpetuate the myth. There is a whole industry built around the myth, this myth is big business.

Just an excuse for a woman to act like a stupid bitch for a week and have something to blame it on rather than a fucking mental problem.

Its about as valid as women who blame their behavior on their astrological sign. "oh, I am a Virgo, Im very sexual". Oh, so you mean if your mom had calfed you out 3 weeks earlier you would be a brain surgeon and not a dirty crazy whore?

It's not a myth Labret... My mom had it bad and I've never seen anyone in so much pain in my life. You can't fake pain like that... but that's the exception -- most women have it easy.

Actually, physically women were not MEANT to have a period every month. Before the advent of birth control, women spent much time pregnant or lactating (which usually stops menstuation). It's actually HEALTHIER for a woman to have a period every few months or even every 6 months to a year, as opposed to every month. It can decrease their chances of certain types of cancer, and it makes them healthier overall. In fact, a lot of women don't stop taking their pill for periods of 3 or 6 months, then have a period one month, then go without for 6-8 months or so again. It's totally healthy. I've talked to many gynecologists about this and not one of them has not agreed 100% with this.

PMS isn't a myth to those of us with afflictions like endometriosis, man. I've had cramps and pain so bad that I've had to be hospitalized and given pain relievers like morphine just to function normally. The hormones DO cause changes not only in physical conditions like mine, but also in behavior. So, according to your theory, pregnant women are "faking it" too? Any type of influx or lack of stabalizing hormones such as estrogen, progesterone and the like can cause depression, irritability, headache, disorientation, a host of physical and mental problems. Just as a lack of testosterone in men can cause the same thing. (And men can and do develop a sort of male-PMS as well.. it's a proven scientific fact).
If your woman is acting like a psycho during her "PMS" time, tell her to exercise, eat less salt, in general inprove her diet. Those who tend to suffer the WORST are the ones with the worst lifestyles (diet and excersice). Taking vitamins can help too.

Normally I agree with you, but in this case you are incorrect, sir.

I take my pills back to back for 6 months at a time. Checked with my doctor first & she said it was fine. I don't have time to be sick once a month.

PMS is very real & frustrating for women to deal with too. Aside from the intense pain of cramps (feels like you just got repeatedly sucker punched in the gut), your emotions get totally out of whack. Who wants to feel like that every month? Ugh.

Whether PMS is physological, physical or horomone induced, let your penis bleed, with cramps, bloating, fatigue and/or overall body discomfort half of every month. Then let's comment on how much it "doesn't" exist

I went on depo specifically because my cramps and periods were so bad, I was missing work.

Curled into the fetal position, cramps so bad I couldnt sleep, throwing up every other month.

Plus, the high estrogen pills actually worked too well :-) Pills "trick" your body into thinking its pregnant, I was getting morning sickness the third week.

If I could afford it, I would go back on depo, or onto the seasonal (or any of the other pills that work the same way, just skip the off pills) right now, im broke, and its condoms only.

Before I got on birth control pills, the pain my period cause was horrible, now I barely get a cramp, and I can honestly say that I never get crazy during my period...comes and goes easily.

BC pills used to be the answer to my prayers - I started taking them when I was 14 because of the cramping, throwing up, diarrhea (sorry guys, but YOU started the thread ), couldn't be away from the bathroom for more than an hour, etc.

But about 5 years ago, they stopped working. I can take them and get ZERO effect - and I've tried them all. In addition to the other physical problems, I also have a big problem with anemia now.

I have migraines which are exacerbated by my periods so my Dr. doesn't want me to take the Depro since once it's in, it's in and he claims if the BC pills aren't doing anything, Depo won't either.

If one of you gentlemen would like to come to my home every 14-36 days (it all depends.....), take care of me and THEN tell me there's no such thing as PMS, my door is always open.

But as LM said - taking pills continously for 3-6 months has been done for at least 20 years and is very highly recommended by most doctors.

There are serious negative side effects on those pills that are never really talked about.
