Would this work for copying/downloading music?
If I own a CD, and it's scratched up and won't play, but I've got the songs in my computer... as a "backup"... is that legal?
And if so, what if I bought a scratched CD for a few pennies, would the songs on my computer still be legal if they're the same songs as on the CD? If so, my idea would be to buy and sell scratched CD's solely for the purpose of having "originals" to songs to I want to download. Stupid? |

As long as you have the original and you bought it. You are allowed to make a back up.
