Google Adwords issue: Identify Affiliate Status

A batch of our ads where suddently dissaproved today (and they have been running for at least 6 months) for this reason:

Identify Affiliate Status: You must clearly identify yourself as an
affiliate or distributor in your ad text. This will help provide clear,
descriptive ads so that our users understand the nature of your site
and your business. Affiliate status cannot be indicated in your URL, as
the URL is not always visible on our ad network sites.

wtf? this is non adult and directly linking to our shop sites
with no tracking id or something in the url.

There's not much text space so i cant imagine google requires
you to state "this is not an affiliate program we are the main
distributor"..

Any ideas?

I think if you add aff. at the end of your ad it will be ok but could be wrong. Still sucks to lose some of the small amount of space they allow.

You know, I think adding affiliate is probably just easier. Even if you're the owner of the store, they'll bitch about these things every few weeks. I complained about it, got it removed, then a few weeks later the same thing happened again. It's just easier to put affiliate at the end of your adcopy.

I can imagine if we used an url that looked like an affiliate url
it could look deceiving.

but we link directly to our domains and ive never seen an ad that
states

* This is NOT an affiliate link .. i mean.. what's the point to that?

They will just keep fucking with you. I don't think there is a way of making them happy.

Google appears to have an algorithm that checks URL's. If it has lots of .cgi?a=b, etc... it is flagged as possible affiliate. If you aren't an affiliate, just fire off an email and they'll personally look at it and say yes or no...

Why does google care if you're an affiliate or not?

They like picking on every tiny detail of the creatives.
