Gangs of New York

This movie... I don't know what it was about it. But I really enjoyed it. It really put a lot of things in perspective. Not directly, but the message the movie portrayed....

Powerful movie. If you haven't seen it - go see it.

I was adamant that I would not go to the cinema to see this movie when it screened over here a while back. My girlfriend wanted to see it and I said no.......

My best mate and his chick were going (his chick and mine are also best mates) and he said he had to go so I was going! No arguing!

I went just coz he would have kicked my ass if I didn't and I seriously loved the movie. It was really powerful and did hit home about a few things....

I'm glad I went to see it now and ever since I have never judged movies before seeing them!

The movie is good until the last part. The ending is very lame.

It's definitely worth watching.

The first part is great. Towards the end it started to drag for me, but it's still a really good movie.

I actually got tired in January at Internext and decided to go to the theater at the MGM and watch it (first and only time I've ever left a party to watch a movie by myself... and I was the only person in the theater... it was a little wierd).

Anyway, I loved the first half, and then started nodding off through the second half. I don't know if it was dragging or if I was just really that tired. I think it was a combination of both.

I'll have to watch it again.

IS this the movie out on DVD now and has been out for rentals for along time? I heard it was not what you think it would be, and the reviews tore it up but now I will have to rent it on .99 cent day at the grocery store :-)

I thought it was disjointed as a whole, and got off track near the end, but still good. The original release was delayed several times as they tried to improve the final cut

The scenery and Lewis' portrayal of 'Bill The Butcher' made the movie.

Daniel Day Lewis made the movie.... his character was awesome. He was bad ass, and funny at the same time!

Leo sucked as always....

Watch the discovery channel special feature on the dvd, gives you some history on the movie.

The opening scene in that movie was great and Daniel Day Lewis was awesome

This is one of the best movies ever! IMO it is right up there with Gladiator.

The fight scenes were great, they made use of all those great dirty fighting moves. I'll chime in with the chorus, Lewis really did make the movie. I need to go buy the DVD soon...

Glad I am not the only one.

Three movies in the last month I have stopped watching within the first 15 minutes.

Gangs of New York

Gods and Generals

I think its called "hail to the chief", Chris Rock running for president. God damn horrid.

Well.. if it's your flavor you might like it.

I'm pretty open with movies.. I like everything except charlie's angels.. but Gangs of New York had a weak plot I thought, some of the scenery was good, but it wasn't an epic or a great movie with a special plot in my books

My ...
