CCBill declining epassporte

Does anyone know if there are problems getting an epassporte virtual visa accepted by CCBill? I have a customer who cannot get his virtual visa accepted by CCBill; the decline code is ?Pre Auth Sc?. Any thoughts?

Yes, they are not set up to accept the Virtual Visa bin code. It has to be a special setup in order for high risk to go thru.

Talk to your rep at CCBill and tell him to contact me.

What are you saying, can I get my CCBill account set up to accept epassporte virtual visa?

I have just started to direct all my declined customers to epassporte thinking this would be the solution to online CC problems. Now I find out it is all smoke and mirrors.

As for your smoke and mirrors comment, I dont get that. If you want to send your declines to ePassporte, then you simply need to get with me and get an account set up, then channel them to that as a backup option instead of checks or alternate processor or whatever.

I have already tried to open an epassporte account several times and my squeaky clean Master and Visa keeps getting rejected by epassporte.

So what do you suggest I tell the three customers that have emailed me this morning saying that their virtual visas do not work?

Well for starters you can't run a business with a personal ePassporte account, so it really doesn't matter what your credit cards are like.

You need a commercial account agreement in place first. How did you think they were going to use their ePassporte accounts as declines thru another processor? Did someone at CCBill tell you they took eP Virtual Visas?

As for what you tell your customers, that is up to you. I'm not sure where you got the idea that you could just start telling them to get ePassporte and using it at CCBill or anywhere else for high risk transactions without somone specifically telling you that it would work... if someone at ePassporte told you that, then I'd like their name since you were misinformed.

I'll be glad to help you out in any way you need, but lose the hostile attitude and let me help you, ok?

"The ePassporte Virtual Visa is a pre-paid, re-loadable Visa that can be used online anywhere Visa is accepted. "

Guess where this quote, and many more like it, came from.

Whatever pal. You are the one who decided to do this without getting any info from us or CCBill.

And quite frankly that decline is a CCBill scrub decline, NOT an ePassporte decline. So maybe you should be talking to them about it.

You are possibly missing a very important point here, these people are now OUR customers and I am going to do all I can to help them.

Should I tell them that the epassporte "The ePassporte Virtual Visa is a pre-paid, re-loadable Visa that can be used online anywhere Visa is accepted. " claim is misleading and that they should contact their CC companies and instigate some kind of complaint against them.

If I have misunderstood the nature of virtual visa then I am going to apologize to these people but I have read you web site and can nowhere find that it is not suitable for Adult/High Risk use. I would not have heard of your product if it were not for the fact that you advertise on Adult web boards.

Anyway what can I do about the people who will very soon want their epassporte account monies back?

Or you could call 1-888-627-3888 and ask for any Sales rep and tell them you want to set up an ePassporte account. That is Epoch but they are basically the same despite what Kimmy might say.

Daen is right. Why would it say that on the website if it wasn't true? Spin I guess. And you can't say any rational comment otherwise. How can you honestly dispute that it says that on ePassporte's website?

I guess because you get paid to

Ok here's a question (and I'm not being hostile, I promise)

I'm Joe Surfer, I buy an epassporte card because it says that it works just like a VISA card and I can use it for my online purchases.

I sign up, load the account, and then go out to buy porn memberships or books from amazon.com or whatever, and my "virtual visa" gets declined everywhere.

How am I supposed to feel about this epassporte that I just loaded with money?

If you're buying books from Amazon, airline tickets from Southwest or Expedia, or a thousand and one other online purchases, there is nothing to worry about.

Some companies scrub decline like Paypal -- they refuse to allow any virtual card load transactions, or in this case it was a CCBill scrub decline so it wouldn't have made the least bit of difference in the end whether or not we let the transaction through.

Its no different than all these people who say they tried this cc with CCBill and it didn't work, this cc with Ibill and it didnt work, etc.

You aren't going to win them all.

No, we're not. We have no control over what bins individuals or IPSPs take. If someone chooses to scrub out a particular type of card they have that right and ability.

Well as someone not using epassporte just interested in the reading of this post I have to offer following comment:

Kimmykim offered you the solution for the problem in the very 1. post. Contact your rep and let him get in contact with her and you can probably setup your CCBill account not to scrub epassporte VISA.

'The ePassporte Virtual Visa is a pre-paid, re-loadable Visa that can be used online anywhere Visa is accepted'

Does this state without any kind of setup on your side where it might be required?

I bet you use statements like that on your sites that can be misinterpreted as all people running businesses do. That what you pay your lawyers for

Excellent point andi --

It's much the same thing as when your bank issues you a Visa and says use it anywhere the Visa logo is shown -- you go to use it online and the transaction is declined, even though you have funds available.

Merchants are allowed to scrub how best suits them, there is no universal standard, just a set of rules about credits and chargebacks.

I have contacted CCBill, but good grief, this is not a problem that customers should be sorting out.

ePassporte is pushed hard on this Adult board and if ePassporte know that one of the biggest, and probably other, Adult processors will not accept them then people are being mislead.

Instead of ePassport telling me a small time webmaster to sort out their problems how about their CEO picking up the phone and talking to the CEO?s of the online processors.

Let me make one other point, and then I'm outta this thread.

It's been stated repeatedly -- MANY MANY times -- on this board and others -- that ePassporte does NOT support recurring transactions yet.

If you do a search for ePassporte AND recurring on this board, you will find it. Many times.

So I'm not sure what you are selling, but this topic has been covered. Repeatedly.

If you still would like some help, and there is anything I can do, let me know.

Here's my epassport experience:
Cost me $5 to load $50. I was issued a 4 series BIN, exp date and CVV2. My first try was at Amazon to purchase a used DVD. The card was declined. The epassport customer service rep said the number was fine and the problem is with the web merchant. Amazon said they couldn't recognize the cc#. I then tried making a one time purchase on an adult site. Same problem as the Amazon purchase. I tried once more on Office Depot and was declined yet a third time. The epassport rep was very friendly, but offered no solution to my problem. When I asked who the sponsoring bank for epassport's virtual Visa was, the reply was a bank in The Netherlands and an offshore island, something like SKANB Bank. Correct me if I'm worng, but I thought it was illegal for a foriegn bank to issue a Visa to a US citizen?!
As a consumer, I can't find the value in spending $5 to use this card. It's not anonymous and it didn't work anywhere I tried using it.
I've since called my bank and charged back the purchase.

My $.02

I just used my epassporte to buy a domain from godaddy, no problem. Never had any problems with them. Once it got suspended though, because someone else transferred money to me, but they (epassporte) were really helpfull, and it took me no time to get it resolved
