Ford Focus - does anyone drive it?

My parents are buying a new car and they're quite sure it's gonna be a Ford Focus. Do any of you guys drive one so i could hear your opinion on this car? Thanks

Haven't driven the american version (looks a bit different). But the european car is pretty nice. Nothing wonderful, but a good basic car. My aunt has one, she hasn't had any techical problems with it since 1999.

It's pretty comfy, and there's enough room in it, even for a larger guy

If they want horsepower and performance, do NOT take it.

I disagree. Ford Fiesta is a girly car, Focus is a small basic familycar.

Look at feedback from current/previous owners:

http://www.carsurvey.org/model_Ford_Focus.html

& don't listen to bullshit from message board children that don't like something "just because".

Have they thought of renting one for the weekend or requesting an extended test drive? May be a good idea...

Solid and compact car?

The Renault Megane is the toughest you'll ever see. It is the ONLY small family car with an NCAP rating of 5 stars. That's better than a BMW 5 series, Volvo S80, Jeep Cherokee or Range Rover... they crashed one on tv, the driver wasn't wearing any safety gear or a helmet, and he stepped out without a single scratch. No other small car can claim that.

Taste is kind of hit & miss though...

If you like it, buy a new one, dont get a used one. Very comfy, AC is phenomnal, lots of legroom, and trunk is also very large. It accelerates fairly decent and Ive managed to pull it to 115 mph without any probs (I drive pretty fast here in the city).

The 2000s had many recalls and suck. Fortunately my 2001 hasnt given me any probs whatsoever, except that I had to get the key cylinder replaced and it was covered by warranty.

Its on all the ford cars, keep your seatbelt on and you won't have that problem,,

btw, seriously the only way to fix it is to cut the clip out of the belt and keep it fasten

or if you don't wanna cut it then put the seatbelt behind you and buckle it like that, but you can't lay back to low
