That's your problem. You think in terms of standard TGPs. That means you have tens of thousands of competitors. Ofcourse it's gonna be hard if you target an over-saturated market with a standard product.

For someone starting out now, $6k a month is hard, because back in '98 when I started, you didn't have to really invest alot to get started.

You can still make $6k a month, but you have to be extremely ingenious. Most of the people who now make $6k a month (and its not as many people as you think ) started at least 3 or more years ago and built up to making that kind of $$$. They didn't start there.

The online adult game is hard because the rules constantly change. Look at the way affiliate programs come and go, even those people have to struggle.

I got back in adult in Jan. I wouldn't be here if I wasn't making 6k a month.

Edit #2: No I didn't invest anything aside from hosting and a domain name.

Figure out what makes you money.. try new things - do your best to think outside the box. Don't pay so much attention to the dollar amounts your making. Pay more attention to the fact your making money. Once you have found something that works well for you.. duplicate, duplicate, duplicate till your making the money you want to make. Once you have reached the number your comfortable with each month then look for new sources of income. Optimize the traffic you have to squeeze every last dime out of it. Automate everything as much as possible to avoid driving yourself insane.

Everyone makes money in different ways and in different places. The recipe for success is different for everyone. Find what works for you then repeat till you can afford to spend time finding something else that works.. then repeat again.

TGP is only good for getting traffic to use for trades etc.
Sure you get some signups while your at it, but you have to have some good connections, or spend some money to get good places at the big ones.

Make a lot of gallery pools with only sponser hosted (niche sepparate most of them), and your own galleries, get traffic from trades, buy traffic, google ad words, SE optimising etc. etc. etc.

You can make 6 grand a month easily, just have to build up enough cash so you can spen some on buying traffic, like 30% of what you make online (which is what most corporations spend on advertising).

Bottom line is you have to spend money to make money (that's my experience at least ;) )

Well said! With my site I do great considering. I have everything plus great retention. The ONLY thing I need to do is get more traffic. Plain and simple. My site sells itself, simple, niche market with sub-niches. Easy to maintain, tailored content I make myself and I listen to the fan mail.

Combining signups, freelance art etc. I'm up there.

Like I said, all I need is a traffic guru and set up a new affiliate program and I'm gone!

The kicker is getting quality traffic on a consistent basis... Converting and getting clickthroughs doesn't seem to be a problem for me.

But I'm working on that.... quality is the key word.
