ABCNEWS SPIKES INTERVIEW WITH SCHWARZENEGGER ASSOCIATE; RACIST COMMENT COMES BACK TO HAUNT CANDIDATE

ABC NEWS has spiked an interview with a close associate of Arnold Schwarzenegger who went on camera and accused the California gubernatorial candidate of making racist comments back in the 1970s, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Charges of past racist comments by Schwarzenegger were leveled by Rick Wayne, sources claim, a former bodybuilding star who is now the publisher of the St. Lucia Star.

Wayne, who is black, told ABC NEWS that Schwarzenegger made the comments regarding South Africa's former Apartheid system:

"If you gave these blacks a country to run, they would run it down the tubes."

The interview was taped and set for airing but was spiked, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Anyway, I think Arnold was talking about South Africa specifically, in which case (whether you think his remark is ?racist? or not) he has proven to be right.

I lived there for some time before during and after the end of segregation and you cannot compare the current problems they have in South Africa with what coloureds had to put up with pre 1994.

Don't measure everything by your own standards.

Most South Africans, both black and white, believe the country was better run under apartheid and say unemployment and crime are the government's top challenges, according to two new polls released this week.

A total of 54 percent gave positive marks to the country's current system of government, up 18 points from 1995.

Among whites, 46 percent gave the current government positive ratings, compared with just 12 percent in 1995.

Seventy-four percent of respondents expressed optimism about how the country's political system would develop over the next 10 years, with long-term optimism among whites rising to 44 percent from 24 percent in 1995.

"As people, especially racial minorities, become more accustomed to the new order, they seem to be coming to terms with it, even as they moan and grumble about all its faults," said the poll.

The Afrobarometer polls are conducted as a collaboration between the Institute for Democracy in South Africa, the Centre for Democracy and Development in Ghana and Michigan State University.

The latest South African polls, which interviewed a racially representative sample of 2 400 South Africans in September and October, had a margin of error of plus or minus two percentage points.

Ahh, I am not the idiot. The part of the article you showed simply states increase in 'positive remarks' for the current Government.


This still does not take away from the fact that a racially representative poll shows that they themselves believe 'the country was better run under apartheid'.

Furthermore, you do realise that more blacks living in Apartheid South Africa were actually immigrants from other parts of Africa looking for work, as opposed to natives of that area don't you?
