Adultwebmasters from MALTA?

Just wondering if there are webmasters from Malta in here or webmasters planning on going there?

I'm going there next week to check it out. If it turns out to be ok, my partner and his family will come over and we'll stay as long as we want to...

We now live in The Netherlands and for the last 3 years me and my buddy worked our asses of, reinvesting almost every dollar we made back into our business. Our goal: going to a sunny place where we can live the way we want to at a reasonable price. Life over here is getting way too expensive!! So now finally, I bought a one way ticket and I'm out of here! (OK, just shared this with you to explain the Malta question....)

I'm also curious about your plans on moving abroad, post 'm if you got 'm....

thanks,
Bob.

hehehe, if you think Malta is non-expensive, you're wrong. I visited it and it's more expensive than the Netherlands.

Sierra Leone is cheap as hell, and it has PLENTY of sun.
Same goes for Liberia.

Seriously though... I heard Malta was a real shithole, friend of mine lived there. Spain is a safer bet.

So you just move to a place that you've never been before? I don't get it.

Yes, sure. Why not? If I don't like it I'll go back, if I do like it I'll stick around. What do I have to lose besides a few plain tickets?

Bob.

Hm, 'cheap as hell', why doesn't that sound good to me?

Don't get me wrong, I did consider Croatia, I know it's beautiful, but I'm not to sure it's stabil enough though...

Well, obviously I did and from what I found out it's cheaper then here. Ofcourse you can make it expensive everywhere....

Have you been in The Netherlands lately? Prices go crazy over here...

But then again, in 2 weeks I know for sure if it's good/bad, expensive/cheap, etc.

I haven't been to Malta. But I know numerous people who have. This thread is the first time I've ever heard Malta described as expensive. If it's so expensive, why are the rents so cheap:

http://www.saragrech.com.mt/residentialmaltarental.asp ?

Thanks for pointing that out, Groove! Exactly what I think. You can also buy real estate starting at $20.000,-. Over here that's impossible. And tax regulations look very good to me...

i havent been to netherlands, but i know it's expensive

i hope you didnt get the info from cia factbooks because they are far away from reality for most countries. For example, they state that cyprus has purchasing power parity - $15,000 which is a joke. Cyprus wages are extremely high and it's one of the most expensive places to live. Malta is not so expensive, but still it's not a cheap country either. The good part is that their tax rate is something like 15% from what I remember

No, last time I used CIA info, things didn't work out

Tax is indeed 15% as a foreigner living there. If I incorporate there it would be down to 4.17%... Guess why CCBilEU is located there...

Compared to what? I have heard that Malta is THE cheapest country in Western Europe. Plus non-Maltese permanent residents pay only 15% tax (minimum approx Euro 4,500), plus zero tax on additional offshore earnings. Can you name any cheaper Western European countries?

Thanks!

I went to Malta earlier this year...

Casino every night, Jet ski's, scuba diving and speed boats by day... Bars, clubs... I like it. I'd go back. Not cheap to live though. House prices extortionate. Makes me wonder if they have one property price for tourists and another for locals.
