The new Dreamweaver
Anyone had a chance to test the beta of it yet?
It's apparently due out next month which makes me wonder firstly, is it any better? Secondly and more importantly, is the text editor actually useable in the new version? They never have been able to get one of the most simple component right. |

I've always disliked dreamweaver...
frontpage is just as good if not better, and 100x easier to navigate/get shit done |

I know i didnt like the dreamweaver MX if this new beta is anything like the MX then I wont use it, I personaly like dreamweaver, there are some downfalls but thats what notepad is, if you dont know html code then you don't need to be fucking around building sites and this is only my im no expert by far but simple html codes is am must learn, if you dont know how to do headers, body, tables in notepad then please learn it will help when frontpage or dreamweaver fucks some code up and you can just look at the source and fix it yourself... *shrugs* TOM

I use DW for speed and features, simply can't afford to fuck about with the main code in notepad. Time is money after all. However I have to use notepad for text editing (or more to the point leave DW to do it) as the text editor in DW is terrible. It tries to be intuative and that just makes it impossible to use especially with copy/paste.
Now if the new one is any good is it worth paying to upgrade.... |

DW4 is the best.
I think the whole Macromedia MX products suck. They are heavier and harder to control. I think the new DW would be slower than DW-MX |

Ohhhh you have to be kidding me. Frontpage sucks ass. Frontpage adds so much erroneous code its not funny. I have picked up sites off people getting out of the business and they have been done in frontpage. Fuckin nightmare. I take the idea and just redo the html. I use homesite for 80% of my stuff and dreamweaver for the other 20%. If you need to use frontpage to code...I'll write you cleaner code on a fuckin napkin while you buy me beer and then you can go home and use notepad. LEARN HTML ![]()
