you'll have to double check on newer licenses, but i _believe_ the case used to be that 1 person could install software on a desktop and a laptop. assuming it was the same person.. there was something about this i remember from some time ago...

Ummmm even though I can do the same, there is soemthing called the SBA i think that cracks down on business for illegal software. All you need is an ex employee or competitor to rat you out and they will be breathing down you neck.

Also, if you read the License Agreement, you did NOT buy winXP, only a license to use it.

Also, you agreed not to sue Microsoft for ANY damage done to ANY of your data even if directly caused by their neglicence

yes, it's always been the case that you were supposed to have 1 license for 1 computer, unless you talk to them about getting a 'site license' which we did in the gov so we could just buy up ___ copies and install them on whatever computers we were using....however it was only a discounted volume deal....still ultimately boiled down to having a license for each computer...

im running 3 computers in my household with 1 copie on 2 machines and & this one has it's own copy i picked up.
their all on one network, ip and so on. It's been almost a year now well some were close to 8 months with no problems.
