Woman made to burn £5,000 boob job money
A woman had to burn £5,000 cash she won from a radio station for a boob job after listeners voted against letting her keep the money.
Angela Robbins, 26, who wanted to go from an A to a C cup, said she cried after having to feed the notes into a pizza restaurant oven.
Birmingham-based Galaxy 102.2FM has been criticised by local church leaders, who say burning the money was an insult to charity workers.
Miss Robbins, 32-24-34, of Shard End, Birmingham, said: ''I couldn't believe it when the listeners decided that the money should be burned rather than spent on a new pair of boobs.
''I only wanted to go up to a C cup as I've lived with an A cup for 26 years and it would have boosted my confidence no end.
''It's going to take at least another year for me to save the £3,500 needed for the operation - but I'm on the waiting list already and I'm not giving in.''
To 'win' the competition Angela had to say how she would spend the money, and then followed up her pledge by walking around Birmingham in a mini skirt and blonde wig, handing out flyers.
She said: ''I kept my cool on air but in the privacy of my own home I cried as I was so gutted - £5,000 is a lot of money to lose.''
A spokeswoman for Galaxy said: ''We're really sorry Angela didn't win the cash but it was made clear at the outset that there was a chance she would have to burn it.
''We donate thousands of pounds a year to charity so we hope no-one is upset that £5,000 has suddenly disappeared.''
