WTF is this ( domains & Overture )

When checking a particular domain name in the Overture tool, I sometimes see such result:

domainname.com 277
domainname.com linkdomain 64

WTF does "link domain" stand for ?

You know how Overture's tool re-arranges the ordering of searches, they call it their MatchDriver tool. Well, what you're looking at in your example is a case of webmasters doing a search for "linkdomain: domainname.com".

the "linkdomain:" parameter is a way to determine where links are coming from on Inktomi. So, this appears to be the owner/webmaster of domainname.com who is checking for backlinks on his domain.

well, thanks Wired guy for that answer.

I am not really into search engines ( rather domains ) so i am checking the tool mostly for type-in traffic ( certainly the results aren't always accurate, but you know what i am talking about )...

i had really no clue what does "linkdomain" mean so thanks for the clarification.
