And last time I checked, so can the U.S. I would like to see the results of that poll taken in the U.S. i doubt it would be that much different right now. And for those with a short memory, most Canadians were supportive of the Bush govt at the start of the war.

It is not only the Canadians that express opinions/polls on a country that has caused many problems lately. Most of the world is looking in disbelief at US Admin incompetence - tho that is nothing new over the past few years.

Since the US is now seeking *any* international help it can muster to keep it out of the shit, - I doubt your comments about support by Canada are valid. Bluntly... you can't afford the luxury about moaning about places like Canada when you are asking them and other countries to provide support and bail the US out of the swamp.

Agree, the US does not receive support from Canada - nor the majority of other countries - in Iraq. The international community already made up their minds over the "evidence" on Iraq and dismissed it - hence no support.

PS. This "evidence" was long known to be false/deceitful - international orgs know far more about the middle east than the US Admin and have known over a long period of time - long before Bush was ever elected to anything. :)

While the US has not received any direct Military support in Iraq ( I mean our Army is better known for it's sexual escapades than for fighting these days) we are helping out in Afghanistan now.

He is not responsible for killing 1000's of innocent people, maiming 1000's more, leaving people starving and without decent medical attention, - the list is endless. I am not familiar with the history of Chretien, but knowing *nothing* about him, - I'd have little doubt he has more savy than Bush any day. Hell, *any* leader in the western world has more sense and experience than Bush.

You might have a point if the question was worded more like 'has the war in iraq turned into a quagmire?'. Instead the way it's worded seems (to me at least) to be more about peoples opinions of Bush than about if iraq has turned into a quagmire.
But that doesn't really matter. I was attempting to point out the difference between two remarks which were not equal.

Canada was and still is involved in the Afghanistan situation. We have lost soldiers to ... the US Aviation....

Our opinions or polls are as important than the one in the UK that was backing the US, unless you only consider polls that satisfies your own political and military agenda... In fact, all opinions are to be considered as a pulse on the perception of this hawk administration.

I hope that Canada will help the Iraqi population ( medecine, water, food, ...) but will not replace US troops as occupiers.
