    Sad day.

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,95203,00.html

Maybe the ACLU should have gotten involved.

oh that's right, they're against these type of things... things the MAJORITY of people in this country hold dear, things that offer a somewhat positive message.

Freedom of Speech, expression, and art.. bye bye.

Further down the fucking spiral we go.
This country is a contradiction of itself.

Um that is GOOD news. No religious favoritism. As antheist I would feel I'm not getting TRUE justice where my religiuos beliefs or lack thereof were I to be in that courtroom.

As far a freedom of speech, the courtroom is that judge's JOB. I couldn't have pics of naked woman at places I've worked before. Or wear shirts that said "Will work for POT" Was I denied freedom of speech? That judge can have the 10 commandments posted on his property or car or wherever durring his free time.

The other option is to allow Hindu, Buddist, Taoist, satanic, etc etc monumnets in the same lobby. That would be a shrine to freedom of religion.

Since my favorite alter is a nude blonde with nice pert breasts to lick wine from it would be a pleasure to have a few volunteers for that monument.

Good news. Preservation of the concept of separation of church and state.

What right does an elected official have to decorate the walls of a publicly paid for building with something representing just his religious beliefs?

          The answer is NONE!

and if it was the statue of david (as was brought up the other day), you'd all be defending it's right to be there, as it's a work of art.

                    Michaelangelo's "David" is art.

That ten commandments monstrosity is vile Christian propaganda.

                    Good decision.

I would like to see a pic on the religious freaks faces when they come in with bulldozers and jack hammers to remove that thing from government.

Here is your biggest problem with keeping religion in the government... this guy wants everyone to believe like he does...

I am so sick of these assholes shoving their morality in my face....

It's no more "art" than the monument is.

Ten commandments is not strictly Christian, and it's hardly a monstrosity.

It's the basis for many of the laws in this country.

It's public property, it should have been put to the public to decide.

The gripes of a few outweigh the desires and the beliefs of the many.

                            This country has officially failed.

                            Freedom of speech is dead.

And before I get the religious freak nonsense, I'm not religious by any sense of the word, and I do not believe the 10 commandments to be the word of, nor written by (a) God, but are a creation of man.

My gripe is solely about the freedom of speech being trampled.
