i have a stack of dv tapes that i need to send to someone and i dont want to send the originals....anyone know the best way to duplicate them to any format i can send in the mail that will maintain the digital quality? I called about a deck that does it and they want 2k..and i'll only use it a couple times..and i called a couple vid duplication places here in town and none will take adult stuff..any ideas?

buy another dv camera and just go tape to tape. you can get a decent quality canon for $500 and keep that camera as a back up.

yeah that's what they tell me is cheapest, get another cheaper video camera.

There's no such thing as owning too many hammers to a carpenter! You probably should have a back up camcorder anyway, this would be a good enough reason to get it. Firewire the two together and you'll have exactly what you need.

shit dude you should be able to hire one for a day and just duplicate them yourself via firewire.... shouldnt cost more than a $100
