does caddyshack count? it was in 1980... the character of ty webb was so zen *LOL*

i love weird science - had SUCH a crush on kelly labrock, and my son and i still run around quoting from the movie

breakfast club - maybe one of the ultimate 80s movies ever

decline and fall of western civilization part 2 the metal years - i treasure chris holmes in that pool pouring vodka all over himself while his aged mother watches in alarm

revenge of the nerds - we just watched that on dvd the other day

not to mention ferris bueller's day off, torch song trilogy, wrath of kahn... there are SO many more - it's true! even though 80s movies are cheesy, they are so great *LOL*

Back to the Future - not my favorite but kewl. after any star wars, it's my son's. a bunch of us went to a back to the future-a-thon when the third movie came out :)

lol, well if you think he looked interesting there you should see him in Rocky Horror ;)

Count me in for:

Back to the Future :thumbsup

In fact, I love most of the 80's movies.

"It's some kind of magic", quoted from Highlander.

There is something in those films, it's the atmosphere, the photography, the acting... If you look at the 80's horror movies, you can see the difference from today's horror movies.

So the best are:

Back to the Future
E.T.
Highlander
A Nightmare on Elm's Street
Hellraiser
Mad Max

and...

STAR WARS, Episode V, The Empire Strike Back (1980)
STAR WARS, Episode VI, Return of the Jedi (1983)

I also add Star Wars, Episode IV, A New Hope, although it's in 1977...just cuz Star Wars rules :winkwink:

So, that's a short list, there is many many more, but I don't want to spend the night on it

Cheers!

anyone remember the name of a kids movie from the 80's featuring a young River Pheonix for sure and perhaps corey feldman but not sure about him (and no, not Stand By Me). They built a space ship in their back yard and had lucid dreams where they imagined flying it. Finally, they do go up in it and are met by wise cracking aliens who watch loads of tv. Used to be on HBO all the time.
