Photographers......

When shooting models... do you have the entire body made up... ie, full body make-up or just their faces?

I notice the camera picks up some things that I am not with my naked eye. This causes a lot of PS work.... Is there a way to lessen the image editing?

Thanks

What type of things is it picking up?
If we're talking blemishes, skin discolorations, etc - it might be best to do a few test shots and take a look at them. If that stuff is showing up, have the model put foundation or cover-up on those spots.

Most "glamour" type shoots have the models make up their entire body to avoid things like that.

Hi Carrie,

Well, during our last shoot... she started breaking out with hives or something... she had a big red hand print on her hip... she says it happens sometimes when she rubs the wrong way...

I guess I was too into the moment framing the shot to notice it and some of the others....

I see some shots of girls from others and their models have such flawlesds skin... just wondering if that was natural, make-up or PS.

Thanks

Try softening your lighting. Using reflector umbrellas or a soft box will cut down on post-production touchups considerably.

Not really lessen the PS work. You can try some "creative" lighting to help out. Checkout the pic... See how Scott does some creative lighting techniques using Krystal.

She is Amateur... what do you expect... she is not a little 18 year old. (not by a few years anyway).

This is why I am asking for some advice here... As you all know.. I am still a newbie... shit.. this is my 1st paysite... (of my own).. Not looking to get rich off this girl... but I think she will do pretty well if marketed properly...

Besides... not doing video yet... not till there is some kind of resolution with those acacia fucks.

Thanks...

Thanks... I have been spending too much time in PS with some of these... This is why I made this post... I need to keep the images amateur... but there is good and bad even with amateur photos so I need to be at least in the middle with average for now... I learn quick and they photos get better with each shoot.

Thanks for all the advice

That is very nice... but isn't that too artsy for an adult site? or amateur site?

The problem with "making up the whole body" is that you may have a problem with getting makeup on your furniture... or anywhere else that you have your model posing. It can also come off on the clothes etc..etc..etc.

We never do "full body makeup" at Oliver Klozov's Studio but we used to do it quite a bit when I worked for J. Stephen Hicks (Penthouse Photographer). Basically, the face would get made-up as usual and then the makeup artist would spend a few minutes looking over the models body for problem areas and then address those areas with makeup.

It's always a good idea as a photographer to take a minute to examine the girls body before the first picture is ever made. By utilizing creative lighting, poses and clothing placement on the models body, you can eliminate a lot of work on the back end. Also, remember that if you are shooting "amateur" type models for an "amateur" type site, you want to keep some of the skin perfections as it ensures that your images have an "amateur" flavor - not a polished look found in magazines etc.

Good luck,

Dean*

Fair Enough! Good luck!
Worry more about c/c processing than Acacia.

Yes, in my opinion it is way too artsy for an adult site. If the girls skin is so bad that you can only shoot pics like these, your best bet is to just send her home. Nothing wrong with mixing some artsy shots into a scene however, but a site full of images like that one is not going to convert well for you -

What do you mean? What should I worry about with the CC processors? I am using CCBill... They are very reputable...

Please explain... what should I be prepared for?

Thanks

CCBill is great, I use them to. I am in fact adding more sites to process with them.

But think longterm. At this time, I would rather earn 10 small checks from 10 different adult/mainstream ventures than 1 big check from one venture. Just a gut feeling....Visa and M/C are laying down the law, and me thinks it is going to get worse before it gets better.

Yea... Visa and MC are scaring me right now too... I just figure holding off on video would be one less headache at this time.

Actually the video will wash it out unless it's real bad.

Thanks p00p... Will do... Money very tight right now... I have to cut as many corners as possible to get this up. Shit... I don't have the 750 for visa yet so I cannot accept it till I can pay.. So I have to depend on the other means of payment till I make that $$ for them.

This is gonna suck since most people use Visa and not the others.

So you are going to process your site without a Visa option? With this Mastercard shopping cart thing-a-ma-dooey, you may want to borrow money to process Visa.

Yea... I was thinking about that... even started looking for an investor to help with the bills... Kinda hard without a business plan.

I figure it will just take a bit longer to get a return... but it will happen sooner or later. Wanna make me a loan? Say 5% of the net on the site?
