Still C64 in a working condition and I still use it. Excellent entertainment for a small 4/20 party. Nothing like playing River Raid or Boulder Dash on a C64 connected to a wall projector.

get an emulator and download the crap out of www.c64.com i tried with my son but he was puzzled at the simplicity of the games compared to ps2/dreamcast, he loves genesis/snes games though.

We also had a VIC-20 and then the C-64. Danny started a single line BBS on the 64 around 1987 too

The first computer we had was a TRS-80 Model 1 from Radio Shack in 1980. We had the 4K unit, 4 kilobytes of blazing RAM!

We also still have our Atari 800, Atari ST, and the Coleco Adam (if anyone remembers those). Our storage room in the basement is a museum of old computers. Everything from an old IBM XT that had 2 floppy's and no hard drive, and up!

He just won't throw anything out

haha, me too... remember "Tower BBS"? probably the easiest to set up from back then, started seeing it everywhere quickly.

i had a c64, then the c128... heh, along w/ *4* 1541 drives, i could play ultima 3 w/ no disk swapping! also, didn't get the 5mb drive, i had the 10mb unit called "Lt. Kernel"... ah, thx for the reminder of those cool days when Toys 'R Us had cutting-edge computer hardware..

Danny couldn't save any programs at first, no drives at all. He would write basic programs, then have to copy them down by hand on paper after he was done. he says that he thinks they maxed out at 999 lines of code!

BTW, I'm just repeating what he's telling me from the couch behind me.

Ha.. funny shit Carol.
My friend had a Coleco Adam.. those were pretty neat
but the Atari 5200 was the best at that time.
Of course, I did not have one

Wanna know something funny Carol ?

The first Porn site I ever saw was yours...lol
back in 1996 i think.. lol.

I started soon after in 1997 promoting Xpics sites.

...and I still have all that old content up in my archives section

I used to make a lot of money from Xpics way back then. I helped Mario with his program as a "beta-tester" and did really well. That was before Brian came in and screwed everything up!

My first advertising check was from Xpics. My second was from WebPower (made a lot of money from Amateur Hardcore). My third was from "Dirty Bird" if anyone remembers them!

Here's a description of the X-cable: http://www.64hdd.com/c64-proj.html

I did write my own loader for C64 and a Linux daemon to feed the data. The daemon was the hardest part with all the crazy track emulation. I wish I had time to tinker with that stuff again.

I also attached a 320Mb IDE hard drive to a Sinclair ZX Spectrum. I probably have every single piece of software ever written for that computer. Some of it is in languages I don't speak but I have it just cause I can. I get a hard on from watching a 40Kb program load up in less than a second. When ZX was my only computer it took 5 min from a stupid tape.

Man.. Xpics was the shit!

.18 to .25 cents per click with NO RATIOS ????

Now, that was the shit.

I made like 300-600 a day on most days and
no less then 100 on any slow day.

Of course, I hosed Adult Check from AVS traffic with
stupid sites I made in order to build traffic.

Now, those were the days

I was raised on Commodore machines. Like many others started off with the 64 (With a couple 1541s, 1571 a super snapshot card and an Epyx FastLoad cartridge that kicked fucking ass). My dad would trade games through the mail with guys all over the fucking world, we had so many fucking games it was insane. I remember playing Quest for Tires for hours and hours trying to finish it, same with Grog's Revenge. Sammy Lightfoot, Loderunner, and the greatest games ever, Summer Games I & II, Winter Games and World Games. First time I played Summer Games I could believe how fucking awesome it was. Then we graduated up to an Amiga, went through a few of those (500, 2000, bought a 1200 when I was 18) and when Commodore died I went over to the dark side and bought a 486 (Cost 4000 dollars with a monitor, ran Linux and not Windows though) My dad bought some old 64s about 3 or 4 years ago with all the games and shit, and wouldn't you fucking know it, 80% of the disks he got were his old ones from when he sold our 64 system, funny how that shit went around 3 or 4 different people and then back to him. Every now and then I get nostalgic and fire up a 64 emulator and check out the 64 web sites and look at the games, I can remember playing almost every fucking c64 game on those sites too. Those were the fucking days. Think I'm going to grab an emulator and some games right now.

My god!

I had a 300 baud modem too! And I was the first on my block to have a diskette drive and printer for my C64. I made money typing everyone's school reports.

Those WERE the days!

had one back in '84.

I remember getting the 20 page BASIC game programming books from the library where half the code was memory programming with PEEK and POKE and if you messed up just one digit, your game wouldn't run after 3 days of data entry. Of course, the book had some typos too so basically hardly any game would work!

I had a C64 SX which was the portable model. I guess it was sorta like the first laptop. Had dBase and Multiplan. At 300 baud, this puppy was smokin.

Used to log in to a few BBS's and Comp-u-sex... errrr... Comp-u-serve for CB chat.

This was in 84/85

I always see those style of joysticks in second hard stores. Sega Genesis game pads also work well (I even remember there being a trick to get all 3 buttons to work on the Amiga).

I had a C64 back in '83. We couldn't connect it directly to our old tv, so we ran it thru the video player to the tv. The night my dad sat up with me all night while I clocked the machine on Space Invaders...he video'd it! ;)

i remember the 64 and the 128. My grandfather worked at rockwell space section and they slowed down so he would play on the computer all day and bring home new games almost everyday. i loved it and i think that is my favorite computer...the great old 64, that is how i got into computers, i was playing with the 64 when I was four which was 1986! yes i know i'm a youngin, but i don't know may 21 yr olds that remember the 64 quite like i do!

Lol, and used rubbers are history to your sexual past, you dont save them do ya? You wont live long enough for it to have any value, but it'd be kinda cool to show your grandkids when they're bitching about they're oc48 connection not being fast enuff.... "Back when i was a kid I used to have to use a 2400 baud modem and walk 14 miles back and forth to school, uphill both ways"
