Between Internext and some comments I heard last night, there appears to be some concern about people who bring their kids to these events. Ages seem to range from infants through teens.

Should people be asked to leave a porn party for flashing because there are children present?

What are your thoughts on this?

Depending on the settings is really what the important deal is. At internext or at conventions there is going to be exposure and it's a bad idea to bring kids, if you do I honestly say do it at your own risk.

But in deals like last night, it's a house party and they dropped a lot of cash on it. I'm sure some family members of the owner or people involved may have family come to see what's going on. In this situation I think it's a respect for the owner factor. IF there are kids or teens around don't do it. Is flashing really all that needed. Just cuz it's an industry house party does not mean you can just go fuck by the pool. If the owner/party host is down then have at it.

I was thinking about this last night. I personally don't think children should not be brought out to play at mature functions, and they should be asked to leave. I saw at least two children around 7 years old last night.

I think it's a bit of common sense. You wouldn't let your 7 year old child watch a pornographic film (at least I hope not), so why would you bring them a party or Internext where the possibility of them seeing sexual activity is right around the corner?

Oh, there is of course a difference in party types. A large party with hundreds of drunk people and many models/porn girls, not a place to bring kids. A small party (ball game, poker, dinner, etc.) with a more tame crowd, more safe to bring kids. Either way, babysitters are the way to go...

Obviously the people organizing for the event are responsible for setting the tone from day one. If nothing else is said, an "Adult Webmaster Party" will be just that...ADULT.

"Friends and families are welcome to attend, so keep your flesh covered."

Why not have a 3 hour preparty at say 7 o'clock where everyone can come, but knows that after 10 things are gonna get nasty.

People need informed!!

That's not really the point though -- I'm sure there are some laws on the books about "corrupting minors" -- SO it would only be respectful to the host of the party that you do not invite anyone under 18, otherwise you could inadvertently sabotage the host. Bringing kids is disrespecting whoever is responsible for the party.

I?ve noticed lots more kids (infants, toddlers?etc.) recently at the conventions. During the Internext bikini contest there were lots of girls flashing their hoots at the pool and there were kids in the area.

You can?t tell attendees that they cannot bring their kids to the hotel and you also can?t tell the babes around the pool not to flash their hoots at a porn convention.

At the Internext convention, I see nothing wrong with bringing your whole family with kids to the hotel and staying there. It's like a vacation for the entire family. There shouldn't be kids in the convention area itself and the parties. I remember see a kid walk right in the middle of where the bikini contest was taking place at the pool party and wondering why someone brought their kid to a party at the convention.

I see no reason to not have your kids and family staying at the hotel, cause adult things shouldn't be happening in the public area of the hotel expect for the spots where the parties were held. I remember seeing people coming in with famalies into the hotel looking around (I'm thinking they were thinking about staying there not knowing what was going on).

I have no idea who the children belong to that were there last night. At one point a VERY young girl was walking around our table and there was no parent in site. About 10 minutes later her mother finally located her.

What I do know is that there were a few girls flashing and even without the flashing...some of the outfits were too revealing for an event with children. Are we, as pornographers, supposed to assume that children will be at the parties and conventions and dress accordingly?

In some aspects I would be OK with this. By removing some of these people and the questionable activities you could potentially open more space for serious business opportunities. This is what SleazyDream has done with his TGP parties.

On the other hand....Removing these elements would take away some of the fun and adventure of the events. People like to hear the stories, see the sexy pics, and even bitch and moan about what went on.

The bottom line is that it is additional exposure for the events....But at what cost?

I have kids at home and work from home. The difference? I don't work on anything porn related when they are awake. I leave that for the evening time. I work on feeder sites for the pill sites, email campaigns, etc.

I would never bring my kids to an adult oriented party and all they know is daddy works on the computer.

I've attended some get togethers with other people in the adult industry where we've brought the kids, but we keep discussions mild and of course dress properly.

It's all about discretion.

I know that if I had kids and they were staying at the Diplomat that they would be content to sit on the balcony and watch the people at the pool from 30 floors up. No way would they want to get out of that room and go swimming...that is cool considering that there were parties at the pool.

Can't take the kids to the restaurants either cause of some of the parties there. No problemo...That's what room service is for and with all the money I saved by not getting a baby sitter, I can easily afford it anyway.

We had the ENTIRE hotel booked. At any given time there were 20 hot women almost dressed and standing in front of the hotel. I know that if I pulled into the driveway on my family vacation that I would see that and then promptly walk my kids into that situation. It's not like people actually plan vacations ahead and call the hotels for advanced reservations anyway.

1) We as adult webmasters are trying to convince the government and the citizens of the US that we are not bad people, and that we do everything to protect the children. Then we bring a kid to a party or convention???

IN Florida, and most states, you are breaking several laws to expose a child to anything that can be labeled ADULT!

Does it make sense that the same child could go with mom and dad 2 miles from the Westin and go to the nude beach?? NO, but that beach is not an ADULT function.

2) Why in the hell would you bring a kid to a function like these?? Do you really think that this kid will not tell at least one child in the school that they attend?? Then you get some snotnosed shitty teacher or parent calling HRS and saying that you are abusing the child. Then you and your sites are in a world of shit.

The worst part is that by bringing the children to the parties, you have put us all into a position of having to defend ourselves more!!!

I plan on attending Internext in January and my husband and I will be bringing our daughter who will be 11 months old. That said, we are not staying at the Venetian, 4 family members who know what we do for a living are staying with us and have volunteered to babysit in shifts so that we can attend the convention and not worry about the safety of our daughter. I would NEVER expose a minor to what should be an adults only situation, and I think any parents that do probably shouldn't be parents in the first place.

Did anyone one notice the people that the Westin let into the hotel with their children that were NOT part of the convention???

We went to eat at the place there in the hotel by the door to the pool, and as we walked in we passed a woman at a table with 2 children. One of the ladies that I was with was wearing panties and an open dress. While all of her parts were covered, it was an outfit that you can NOT wear to the mall...

We were informed by the hotel that these were people that come to the hotle every week for dinner. When we asked the lady if she had been informed about the convention being an ADULT convention, she said NO! The hotel only said that they had a convention. She further said that if she had known, she would not have come!!!

It seems to me that a lot of people have just lost control of their own lives... And Aaron, I had to be in bed by 9pm when I was a kid. Summer or not!

Same here, my kids have a bed time (I'm a bit more liberal on the weekends). I also take the responsibility to shield them from my work, this includes doors, locks, bed times, etc.

I also have enough side projects that involve nothing adult whatsoever and that's all I work on when they are awake.

On my kids' computer, I use filtering software and a keystroke logger. They have desktop shortcuts to nick.com, nickjr.com and cartoonnetwork.com. 90% of the time I am with them when they are online. They are too young for chat, but when they become older, I will sure as hell keep tabs on that as well.

what a shame, if you cant find a baby sitter or cant afford one maybe you shoul put your priorities in order, make sure your kids are safe, then go party.. ther eis no reason.. infant, toddler, or anyone under 18 should be allowed to attend.

If it's a private party, then the hosts have the say on who's brought to it. Period.

I know several of us took our kids to Dokk's house 3 years ago for a party that was nothing but adult webmasters. Kids were invited, they had a GREAT time and everyone had the common sense to keep their clothes on.

I DON'T think they should be taken to a convention where the hotel is designated for adult webmasters only, but if we only have some of the rooms at a big hotel, and you don't take your kids to the show and parties themselves, I don't see a problem with it - after all - OTHER guests are going to have their kids there.

And if there are kids there, i.e. a private party where you see them and/or a hotel where kids are there (adult webmaster kids or others), then have some common sense and keep your clothes on.

That's not really the point though -- I'm sure there are some laws on the books about "corrupting minors" -- SO it would only be respectful to the host of the party that you do not invite anyone under 18, otherwise you could inadvertently sabotage the host. Bringing kids is disrespecting whoever is responsible for the party.

It's like a vacation for the entire family. There shouldn't be kids in the convention area itself and the parties. I remember see a kid walk right in the middle of where the bikini contest was taking place at the pool party and wondering why someone brought their kid to a party at the convention. I see no reason to not have your kids and family staying at the hotel, cause adult things shouldn't be happening in the public area of the hotel expect for the spots where the parties were held. I know several of us took our kids to Dokk's house 3 years ago for a party that was nothing but adult webmasters. Kids were invited, they had a GREAT time and everyone had the common sense to keep their clothes on. I DON'T think they should be taken to a convention where the hotel is designated for adult webmasters only, but if we only have some of the rooms at a big hotel, and you don't take your kids to the show and parties themselves, I don't see a problem with it - after all - OTHER guests are going to have their kids there. And if there are kids there, i.e. a private party where you see them and/or a hotel where kids are there (adult webmaster kids or others), then have some common sense and keep your clothes on.
