MCAD is inital certification path. I think it is 5 exams. I am learning .NET now as we are switching everythign we have over to it but I am not a big fan. I think ColdFusion/PHP is much easier and alot faster to develop with for web based apps.
the good thing about .NET is that as an organization you can have everyone develop in the same langauage now for the web or client server or standalone applications... It makes it so that everyone can to some extent do everone elses job. That is why i think it will be huge.
