http://www.australianpolitics.com/fo...conomies.shtml The reason I use these figures rather than the PPP is that the countries themselves use them. Consider that China's National Bureau of Statistics if fond of pointing out that they are likely to become the world's third largest economy by 2020 and the world's second largest by 2050. They are already the world's second largest economy if one uses PPP. However they don't think that way and so neither will I. ;-) |

it is not racist to defend imperialism. africa has gone to hell for the past 30-50 years after the british pulled out and gave african nations "independence", look what it has cost.. untold lives.
we have liberia (war going on 15 years), the congo (on going for 20 years), zimbabwe who were once producing enough food to feed the entire region now relying on hand outs thanks to their resident dictator, South Africa with an explosion (and denial) of aids and racial attacks against the remaining white population being covered up, Sierra Leone which has just been relatively stabilized after 15 years of civil war which saw rebels hack off peoples limbs in an indescriminate manner and of course who can forget Uganda with idi amin (sp), plus a number of other nations... Nigeria for example is totally corrupt yet is held up as a "regional superpower". |

And by the way, UN has been asking US to help out in Liberia and it's not only US that is there. Their president is begging for help. I'm not a soldier so you are right, I don't wanna go there and I also have a familiy and don't wanna leave them for aid work. I love them to much. But I can make an opinion and I can give away money to organisations helping out- and that what I do. You bad, bad man.. |
