can webmasters be trusted?

We've been trying to find a new CC processor and getting no where. They'are either geared to paysites, we have to use their shopping basket or think a limit of $150 is fine.

So we are going to try out a new system.

Order the content, opt to send us a check or bank transfer and we will FTP the content right away and wait for your payment.

THIS IS ASSUMING WE LIKE YOUR REGISTRATION, YOU'RE NOT SOME ANNONAMOUS GUY FROM NOWHERE.

Will be very interesting to see how much money never get's sent. I reckon anything less than 13% and we are ahead it will just mean we do not suffer with the the 10% hold back for 6 months.

AT LAST A SENSIBLE CONTRIBUTION, YOU AR EONE GUY WE WOULD TRUST WITHOUT ANY QUALIFICATION.

We will look at the guys registration, people at free mail addresses will be looked at closely, will see if they have done business with us in the past and might ask for a phone number and address.

I guess it comes down to % 10 rip us off and we are 3% up and no 10% hold back. Don't think this works for paysites though.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

Try 50 percent will rip you off once they know they can. 10 percent will rip you off when they think they can't.

I suggest you keep looking for that merchant account. I did and I finally found one.

Isn't it nice to know what some think of their clients.

Of course if they are brand new to us, order a lot and have no contact details we will think hard about it.

But also if they see how our content works they might think twice about ripping us off and would rather keep in with us.

It will be very interesting to find out.

I see where you require an e-mail address that's associated with a web site on your registration form, so I'd think that would help considerably along these lines. Especially if you come here and post details of the ripoffs...

don't leave it to chance. take the guesswork out of the equation by shopping around. Hook up with 2000charge and use their shopping system. Its very sweet.

Then the only question you'll have is: Can credit card processors be trusted?

Try calling them to verify their identity. People fear cheating when they will be called within 24 hours. Or get a pack of lawyers to go after the people who don't pay

We can't use their shopping cart and I think whether processors can be trusted should be asked of ex clients of WSB, Globill, Ibill. To name just a few.

If we are giving credit out it gives us the right to ask for their phone number, address and SS number.

But I think if it get's to that we will wait for the funds to be cleared.

Don't take free email addresses at all. Who doesn't have their own domain? If someone can't spend $10 for a domain and $20 for hosting, what are the odds that they'll come clean with a $100 content purchase? Sure, you'll be pushing away some clients because of this, but at the same time you'll be pushing away the bad clients...

why not?? its written in Miva, which is 100% customizable. Besides, you can plug any coding language into their processor. Its the only adult cc processor we've found that will let us do this - without having to set up a merchant account.

can't shouldn't be a word in your vocabulary. damn that was corny.

Will try them again but they said the client had to go through their shopping cart. They did say they would get back to me and I'm still waiting.

Just do not give out the license until you get payment, that would cut out some chance of fraud as well.
