Discuss what's fucking going on, and which programs are best and worst. One-time "program" announcements from "established" webmasters are allowed.

Tech Roundtable for Internext Las Vegas?

If you were like me and attended the Legal Roundtable at internext, you might have been disappointed in the presentation.

Most of the answers that the panel presented was "consult an attorney", like maybe one of them on the panel *plug-plug-wink-wink say no more*

There are some major issues for webmasters like 2257, Acacia patents, Age verification, .XXX domain, etc... that have their connections to technology.

I am proposing a Tech Roundtable with some technical folks who aren't plugging any of their stuff, just there to give real answers to real questions.

This roundtable could branch off into other areas that can give opinions over legal issues, that we can express our opinion, rather having disclaimers about "client-attorney relationships" and being able to have a real sharing of information and ideals as it relates to technology.

Everything that we do on the internet is based on technology and alot of webmasters may have alot of questions involving technology, who don't necessarily have a CTO or computer experts to turn to.

Any support for such a forum? I'll have to chat with the folks running InterNext, but wanted to see if people would attend and what kinds of technical issues they are interested in.

Part of the complaints I heard about the Legal Roundtable and the .XXX domain forum was webmasters didn't seem to care to attend it... my answer is that some just aren't aware of the legal issues, don't care about the legal issues, or realize they weren't going to get straight answers.

No offense to the panel, I completely respect the time they put in to try and help inform webmasters on issue legals and i fully realize they have to be very careful in what they answer due to liability issues.

I am proposing a Tech Roundtable where there is an open, community feel where people can ask questions and get answers, even opinions on issues that stray into other non-technical areas.
