Computer problem I have never seen before
I have a computer at work that randomly opens the start menu, or opens window search, and occasionaly enters random strings of text for no apperant reason no matter what program is being used.
This is not my computer but one I am responsible for and the l-user that this computer belongs to is a complete idiot. I don't know if it is something they have done or it is something that is just wrong with the machine Anyone ever seen one do something like this? I have a fire wall installed and good, up to date virus protection software. No other computer on the network behaves in this manner either. Anybody got any ideas? I think the machine is just haunted. ![]() |

Yeah, I'm guessing someone has remote access set up and is using your machine while you are.
Got XP, or a vpn or something? |

Win2000 and yes VPN
Seems kinda odd that it the same shit over and over though. Never any kind of sense to it. I have XP on my machine and never have any problems with it. |

I had that once, dirty keyboard turned out to be the culprit, junk in there was sticking keys etc. New keyboard, end of hauntings :-)

Does your mouse pointer behaves irrationaly? if so, that might be the problem.. Try replacing the mouse.

Yeah I had the same thing. But my problem was two things -an optical mouse that was fried and a cordless keyboard that the remote thing was too far away from the keyboard.
