Canon XL1S
Canon GL2
Sony VX2000

Fucked if I know. Those are the only ones I'd really look at except maybe that new Panasonic HD cam.

The only good one that you could get for under $1000 would be a stolen one or a used one - neither one should you trust.

Sony VX 2000 - well worth the investment

Vauxhall VX220 is fast but hard to drive...

I'd go for a Lotus Elise, bit more comfort, great to drive.

The Canon GL1 was truly outstanding 3 chip camera, good for making movies and cost about $1700.

Not made any more, but I have seen them on Ebay for under $1,000 and that would be a great deal for you.

no such thing as a "good" DVCamera for under $1000.

Sorry

i suggest a 3chip DV cam if you will be shooting in less than perfect light.

if your maximum is $1000- the best bang for the buck (image quality wise) might be a used Sony trv900, something like:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tegory=20 333

i use the same camera when working on location, it is excellent.

For camera's under $1000 you fall into the single CCD Mini Dv Cams ... Sony, Canon and Panasonic have some great cameras to chose from .. Just Look for Camera Optical stabilazion capabitlities .. that should be the Main Charactersic that you'll want a single chip camera to have, since these cameras are small and light wieght, you'll really appreciate the Lens Stabilizer
