Qoute Request: Server w/ 6 TB/Month

I am currently with rackshack, where I am happy, but I have outgrown their configurations. I need a box and roughly 20Mbits or 6TB a month. I need whatver plan i'm on to be expansion friendly meaning I would reasonable overage charges. send quotes to matt at yayco.com

Their network can certainly handle it but Rackshack's biggest plan is 10MB/Sec capped. I could get two but my peak days will well over 20MB a sec. If get 3 then we are talking close to 1500$ a month plus I have to mirror to two servers everytime I upload something. Rackshack is good if you do less then 10MBit, but if go over that it gets to be a pain in the ass.

Have you actually asked if you can increase it to 20mb/sec? It sounds strange that any hosting company would say no.

Rackshack works on volume pre-packaged deals. They are not the type of people that design custom plans for you.

I wonder why they make 10mb/sec their biggest package?

Hi, 20Mbit would be around ~$750 (rough quote) at VibeHosting.com on a P4 2.4GHz or slightly more on a dual. We can either cap it or do it on 95 percentile with 100mbit burstable, in which case you pay $50 per mbit overage.

Note that this is not pure Cogent bandwidth like Rackshack's.

If you want fast, quality and reliable hosting services: ICQ Sean 71333007 at Mach 10 (mach10hosting.com). He'll probably give you a deal that you can't refuse. Don't mind the prices on their site, just contact him directly.

Do you need managed or unmanaged? And what about hardware specs?

ohh please cut the crap... RS is far from "pure cogent" in fact it almost doesn't use any if you take in consideration the number of GiGE lines they got...

stop spreading lines...that ain't the best way to get biz...

Sorry, their 10mbit plans are advertised and sold as pure Cogent, check it out. Only their lower bw plans have mixed bw.
