i sold some domains, what to do next?

i sold some of my domains and i need to transfer them from my domain registrar to the person who bought them.

is the transfer procedure as easy as having his registrar contact mine and have them transferred?

i read the f.a.q. on my registrar's site, but it isn't very clear on this.

i tried to search the gfy archives but got an error message about a problem with the database.

thanks for your help.

take it easy,

Some have a section for transfers, which registrar are you using?

i'm using DirectNIC, and they have a 'domains transfer' form to transfer from other registrars to them.

it seems pretty simple to initiate, but the FAQ makes it sound like rocket surgery.

i'm not sure what registrar the buyer is using, but i guess i can ask him.

Peach, you can have him join Directnic and transfer it. Then he can go to his registrar and move the domain, many do it this way.

I use Gord at domainnamesystems.com and have the buyer sign up with him, transfer it with a menu choice. Then once the transfer is done, they move it where ever they want.

The person who purchased the domains needs to initiate the transfer request which you then approve when it hits your mailbox. Or as Lee Noga said get them to get a directnic account and push them over.
