what junk are your kids into at the moment?

My nephew is already starting to bug people about Christmas presents. He is nuts about Dragonball, just like he was last year.

Anyone's kids hooked on anything different this year?

I make a pretty big chunk of money (for me) on yu-gi-oh. I noticed a trend in search engine terms about a year ago, bought a domain and it has paid off. Still never seen an episode though ;)

well my daughter is only 2 so she is into Elmo, Barney, Pooh, Dora. Amazing that a 2 year old can identify all the characters in those shows by name. And they are all so expensive! Disney is killing me with the prices.

My kid must have over a 1,000 of these fricking cards. I don't even want to think how much he's clipped me for so far. He has dueling battles with them or something like that.

People buy hundreds of dollars of them at the time...I remember buying a zillion and one garbage pail kids but I know my folks never would have gotten the plastic out to pay for them.

naw, he isn't too bad..and we aren't likely to just crumble and get him things. Plus it is a good sounding board for what is trendy. If he mentions something a dozen times I know it is time to put up a website for it.

My kids are all CRAZY about Spongebob Squarepants. I thought it was silly at first, but I sat down and watched a couple of episodes with them once and I got hooked. It's really funny!

My youngest is craziest of all for Spongebob. In fact, her third word (after dada and mama) was bunt-bob, which is what she calls Spongebob. LOL

They also really like K'Nex.

I kept waiting for Sponge Bob to take off over here in the UK but it never really happened. My little cousins back home love it but over here it is burried in the digital channels so it never really took off.

And why can't we talk about our kids? Not like we are posting their pics or anything.

bugger that.

tell your kids to do what I used to do. Go out and buy them a nice piece of wood. like a broom handle or something. Then they can beat the shit out of all the other kids and take their cards for free.

Wood's cheap dude.

my kids get a rocking vacation for x-mas.. last year we all learned how to snowboard as a family and i hung all their cards with money on the tree... no wrapping paper or big ass mess and three worn out kids after three days of non stop boarding...

this year we all get new snowboards and another vacation to the mountains...then we are off to Las vegas.

I love giving them memories isntead of a bunch of junk that ends up broken or in the garbage can. I let them buy what they want with all the money they get from their relatives.

i hate x-mas shopping and all the shit that goes with it..

Yu-Gi-Oh, Hamtaro, all of that anime shit...it drives me insane. My girl is 9, so she's also at an weird age where she's getting too old for dolls but not yet interested in clothes and makeup too much. Mostly I plan to get her books and art stuff for Xmas -- she reads above her grade level, way above, so I'll probably get her a bunch of Buffy young adult novels and sci-fi books.
