That's a pretty stupid statement. You can't insist on respect. If you don't deserve it you won't get it. I have yet to meet anyone scary enough to make me to give them respect* they haven't earned from me. I don't know you so I won't pretend to pass judgement, but on the whole I think that people who <I>insist</I> on respect do so because they can't <I>earn</I> respect.

As usual with GFY, the truth barely resembles the story.

The way I remember things, I was having a lively conversation with someone (I think LAJ) when he stops us in front of Grim Shawn (whom I've never met) and says something like "do you know who this is?" and Grimshawn looks down at my badge and says something like,"yeah, its that fucking 12clicks guy" (or words to that effect. I then look for his badge, see he's not wearing one and say "ok, and who the fuck are you?" He replies, "I'm Grimshawn, the guy who's party you're at and if you gonna' talk to me like that you can get the fuck out" (or something close to that)
As far as I know, all this was said in good humor and the beer drinking incident happened about a half hour later (quickly followed by security coming to find out how a beer bottle ended up off the balcony) :winkwink:

oh, and local G was heavily involved in that story as well.
