here's the deal... many people may not agree... but a large portion of the back people use the term "******" among themselfs in this day in time... I would say that 10 years ago.. the word "******" would have been a racist term for sure... but now the meaning is deluted..

Now being white, I'm not going to go up to a black guy and call him a "******" now that would be racist.. but if it's a back guy I hang with then it would be ok to say "hey what's up my nigga"

But you can't take a word and allow one group of people to use it, and it's ok.. but if another group of people use the same word..then say it racist...

The word Nigga has become a part of everyday vernacular. I think what's important is to look at the motiviation or context in which the word is used. To say that you don't recognize differences in people of a different race is unrealistic. That being said, I think treating someone differently (not giving them the same chance of being a friend, proving their worth to you as a fellow human, etc) because of their ethinicity is wrong. If you are intolerant to people because their a different color, or have a different background as you then you are the only one who is being sold short, by yourself.

There are racial differences. For example, black men have a strong tendancy for darker skin. It does not make me a racist for acknowleging this difference. Black men have a higher suseptability to sickle cell anemia, too. Do you want the medical community to ignore that fact in the spirit of political correctness?
