They could make that much in their sleep as free site webmasters....why would they bother putting in all those hours at someone else's office for that much money?

While that may be true, I have run into quite a few "marketing people" that don't know how to build a website.

Most employees here probably make something in the 40-60 range, with a group making much less, and a group making much more.

Back in the days, I would say $60k. These days, very few make that. I like to start people at $30k and let them prove themselves.

No shit. I know of a few employees that, to speak to, are completely fucking clueless. A standard response to any question is generally along the lines of "Promote us 4 MaD phat cash HIGH payout days $$ & webMaster PriZes!!!11".

Straight from Bonehead Academy, yo.

I can give you a list of several people who can't answer the simplest of webmaster questions. When I was doing support for EC I always prided myself in that I actually knew how to build sites.

Even now selling hosting, I think I'm one of the few salesman who is an actual webmaster and knows how important hosting really is.

that is why I put much more value on someone who started as a webmaster and then got hired or started with a company back in the days when everyone had to get their hands dirty.

I've talked to sponsors at webmaster meetings who didn't know what a tgp was or what AVS stood for. Now how are they going to bel able to answer the average webmaster's questions?

Atleast when you get people who are also out there doing the ground work they have an idea of how things work for themselves. Such as me, with the stuff I do...I try the links out myself so when a webmaster icqs me I can let them know what worked for me rather than just taking a stab in the dark.

That's probably pretty close...but commission is where the big money is....and the question wasn't what the salaries were...the question was how much do they make.

many of the adult employees do not even deserve the min. salary and honestly i don't see many of them getting any more than that. They lack webmastering skills, they lack communication skills and some of them even personality.
