I would imagine watching someone rape your entire family forcing you to watch.

Not only fucking your sister and mother, but bending your father and 2 little brothers over as well and raping them.

that would be about the most foul thing I could imagine without involving grandparents as well.

Well you just can't blame 'christians'. Every form of man made organized religon has its hypocrits.

One glaring irony is how many of our history's wars were created based on organized religon and how many people are slaughtered every minute because of their differences of religon.

Think of how many mindless murders would not have happened if everyone practiced the same religon or none at all.

Of the things you mention, politics. It's the ultimate breeding ground for all the others.

Every woman should have the right to decide whether she wants the baby or not herself. Call it murder, but nothing is more sad for me than unwanted abused children.

As for the death penalty - they usually get what they deserve, not mentioning they usually die in much less pain than their victims.

This is not meant as a flame, I respect your right for opinion.

Abortion has a choice, there are no Government forced abortions. The death penalty is flawed and until it is fixed I do not support that though.

Alot of smokers also piss me off. So many of them want to have the right to smoke anywhere they want, but why the hell should *I* have to pay because they're too ignorant to avoid something that causes cancer, bronchitis, emphysema and other horrible things? If I get a case of the flu I'm not going to run out breathing my germs all over 200 people at the mall. That's just RUDE..
Smokers just want a place where they can smoke. Non smokers piss me off, instead of asking for you to please put it out, they will start to fucking fake cough ands shit. Smoking is not about ignorance, it is a choice. Trust me we know what can happen if you smoke, how can we not, the Government and non smokers have been pushing it down our throats for years now.

As far as your flu comments, I call bullshit. Sick people get on fucking planes every damn day, they go shopping, and eat at resturaunts. They do not give a rats ass about other peoples health. Yet unlike second hand smokes side effect, which are inconclusive, We can proove that sick people kill others.

Primadonnas really tick me off. Arrogant bastards that put down newbies just to stoke their egos. Generally, mediocre people that have to put down others to make themselves feel good.

Cardboard Box 07-31-2003 07:42 PM

I am offended by ignorance.

Ignorance begats hate, closed minds, lack of respect/understanding; idiocy in general.

I am excited by education; education beyond books, education that comes from learning about and embracing diversity (race, creed, culture, lifestyle, religion, et al), learning to respect one another, learning to appreciate individuality on all levels.

NOW THAT REALLY PISSES ME OFF

tootie 07-31-2003 07:44 PM

Maybe it's because I'm female, or maybe I'm overly sensitive, but I DO care about other people's health. I do not go out when I am sick unless it is an emergency in which case I will go straight to where I need to go, staying as far away from people as possible the whole time, and come straight home. If I am sick and I go to the doctor's office, I will stand against the wall instead of sitting beside someone else. If I am too sick to stand, I sit in the floor as far away from the others as possible.

I care about the lives of the unborn babies of mothers who think of them as nothing but accidents that need to be cleaned up. Abortion has a choice for the mother, and believe me I do feel for the women who get pregnant and do not want to be, but my heart aches more for the children who cannot choose to live. Whether or not they are technically "alive" a few weeks after conception can (and may) be argued forever, the POTENTIAL for life exists, and it hurts me to see that snatched away just because a woman had sex before she was ready to have a child.

I care about the lives of the children whose parents smoke in the same room with them and cause them health problems. I had bronchitis and severe ear infections several times a year for the first 15 years of my life because my father smoked so much. When I was 15 I wasn't at home as much and I spent alot more time outside and in my room instead of in the living room with him and my health improved dramatically. For me, the proof that secondhand smoke causes illness had already been proven. I support smokers' rights to smoke, and I do not try to lay claim to smoking areas, so smokers should respect my rights as well.

I care about the lives of the other people on the road with me, so I do not drink and drive, I do not use a cell phone will driving, I do not eat while driving, I do not apply makeup or even check myself in a mirror while driving.

I care. Honestly, I do. I have extreme respect for human rights and human life.

It is things like abortion that really tear me up, though. It's a hard choice. The hardest, really. Because it's unfortunate that the rights of one person (the potential child) must be infringed upon in the worst possible way to protect the rights of another person. I do believe abortion should be an option in cases of rape or incest, but I don't know where to draw a line when a woman makes the choice to have sex and ends up pregnant. I think it is awful that a child has to give up his or her right to life simply because a woman made a bad decision. :(

I care too much. *sigh*

that's a tough one though.... I can't really say ignorance offends me, although it's easy to let it... because, really, everyone is ignorant about something... very few people on the planet know everything.... so when you bump up against someone that would be considered ignorant, I think it's mostly aggravation rather than actually offensive....

but that's just my 2 cents on it....

buzzard 07-31-2003 07:46 PM

#1 Vindictiveness. Giving complete strangers the benefit of the doubt and then being spiteful to those you are closest to.
For instance, when a stranger shows up he seems to be the king. Relatives and friends get spiteful, the stranger rules all. No one would want a stranger to think they are mean would they?
Try it, Take notice how your spouse and relatives change their attitude towards you when a stranger shows up.
I have accused my mother of this many a time: "you become vindictive towards me and give a complete stranger the benefit of the doubt" I ain't shittin it's fucked up and drives me nuts.

#2 RELIGION probably the cause of #1.

Abortion doesn't offend me. I have no right to serve as a moral conscience for anyone other than myself.

However, abortion should not be birth control any more than motherhood should be a punishment.

And when you bring "soul" into the discussion then then we have entered the realm of pure Ivory Tower chit chat.

As for the controversy of whether a baby is alive before a certain gestation... anyone can argue either side until they are blue in the face and the other side will never change their minds. If some people want to justify their actions by claiming the baby wasn't alive yet, then so be it.

It's still heartbreaking to me.

If the potential for life exists, it's enough for me. I feel that *I* was alive after conception and I'm damned glad my mother didn't kill me. That's all I can say on that subject. :)

lol, what sort of ludicrous straw man argument is that?! Not alive? When, pray tell, was the last time you heard a pro-choicer argue that a fetus "isn't alive"?

Of course its alive, but merely being alive doesn't make it a human person deserving of protection under the law.
