If it is a nice facility, go for colocation, can't beat it in the longrun.

My only bad experience with colo (in mainstream) is watching the machines become obsolete while the guys who were leasing kept getting upgrades.

I don't really understand it, but at many hosting companies colocating your own rackmount server costs more than leasing one from them.

If you do lease a server, I wouldn't sign a contract for more than 12 months unless the contract had provisions for upgrading my server over time. There are enough quality hosts out there now that there is no reason to be stuck paying top dollar for an out dated server.

for the record, every server at webair is managed, colo or dedi, if its there we watch it, if you need something done, we do it =)
