I would bet that visa is coming down on them hard. a lot of avs's are starting to feel the heat, and trying to be complient by changing how they are advertised, and the quality of the sites in the system.

Exactly, it's called get your own traffic. The sites they deleted, as far as I was aware, were sites that made 0 sales this year. So those sites are not converting from linklist traffic or, if wm's had promoted them, their own traffic.

Sausage most avs services removed the crap regarding over 18 verification sometime ago.

but how can you make 0 sales in a whole year from an AC site? I thought they were strict on how your site is and with a small SE traffic you could get a few sales per site.

They slackened their rules a while ago mate. They have only recently tightened up the Gold policies once again. I agree with you, you should be able to get a sale with some outside traffic - so best guess here is those sites were not promoted at all, but were built with the intentions of upselling acmoviespass, acprime, acgold sites and acpay paysites from the Ac links list traffic instead of trying to sell passes. It's pretty clear now what AC is looking for, wm's who can build converting sites which are promoted.

The purge probably got rid of just more than 1/2 their sites. A rough estimate might've been about 220,000.

Personally, I think it was a pretty fair cleanup assuming they did what they claim they did. That is, dump every site by webmasters who didn't earn a dime all year.

It should not have affected webmasters who made even just 1 sale all year.

What you say about purging sites that don't make sales is true.
But on our stats page even sites making sales were purged not just the ones that didn't.

The stats are fucked at the moment. Suprised if anything in there makes sense today.
