paladino's - isn't that the place in the valley where all those tribute bands play? i knew a guy from ratt n roll - they played there a lot. i have a friend who was in motley priest (80s metal coverband) and bonnfire (bonn scoot ac-dc band) played before them.
some of my all time favorites are locals... diesel machine http://www.dieselmachine.net/ def tones extra fancy old alice cooper white zombie i don't fucking know used to really like a band called thunk, but they went the way of the dodo |

Not necessarily bands, but since a couple people mentioned Jeff Buckley and Tom Waits (love them both) I'll go with:
Ray Charles Lucinda Williams Cowboy Junkies but also love Rage Against the Machine Dwight Yoakam Ani Difranco Wilco and pretty much everything else. VARIETY. |
