I have always promoted sponsors with consoles on my tgps and free sites, but now many sponsors offer no-console tours with lower payouts. Unfortunately, many sponsors overdo it with the popups. It is just plain annoying. I can imagine what the surfer experiences if he wants to click on my sponsors links. I am starting to think maybe I would piss off less surfers and hopefully make more signups by offering exclusively no console sponsor tours. Please tell me your experiences with console vs. non-console tours (ie. do you make more money with consoles or no consoles).

Some sponsors are very aggressive on the exits, so why not do your own? Pick the no console option and make your own exit chain (using frames). I do this and it works quite well.

Bascially we feel that popup console when entering and leaving the site makes webmasters way less money. Try to go to a site with consoles when you enter the site and try to get to the signup page and see how hard it is. If it is hard for you then it is going to be even worse for the surfer and this will make you less money but the sponsor more because usually in these consoles there is usually only affiliate links which you're not going to get credit for. This is why we have only 1 exit console with quite a few links back to our sites and we still pay $40 per signup.
