If you run XP you can load the movie in Windows Movie Maker, you'll have this program allready installed (its free) and take the pic with that program of any frame you want.
Just curious about windows movie maker....how exactly do you take a screen cap of a frame and save it into jpeg.
I played around with it for a while and couldnt get a pic out of the movie only more movies.
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.
when I do print screen on mpegs and paste into photoshop, psp, or whatever, the movie plays in the graphics prog its pretty funky ... but I know videodub works for it
Project-Shadow,
Yea, I downloaded it yesterday for free, but 10 bucks aint bad. It makes very crisp thumbnails btw, you seem like a aboutbouncer pro. Did you see my question on the ab's board? My handle over there is cheeseboy. Just signed up with adult bouncer and I've got some questions.
I just noticed something freaky....Any program I use to take a screen cap off of windows media player takes the cap....shows the image of the frame in the program but than when I save it....i get a black image with no picture. Any reason why it is doing this?

I am not using print screen I am using the capture tool included in the program. For example snagit....I do capture it shows the image than I save it as jpeg and than when I open the jpeg it is just a black pic. no image.

Hey guys. This thread got on my radar and I thought I'd stop by to throw my input.
SnatchIt! http://theedgeofforever.com/ is my program. I don't work for AB but I do have an AB site. =) I also don't work for adultpaymaster.
SnatchIt! is an awesome, simple program that makes excellent thumbnails.
Some features that everyone loves:
You can skip frame by frame to find exactly the shot you want.
You can take a snapshot of the movie before you save it to a thumbnail.
You can copy the full movie frame or the snapshot directly to the clipboard.
You can use it to open any movie that Windows Media Player can open. So unlike many other programs like VirtualDub, it'll open your WMV files.
It has a trim function that automatically trims any black edges on your movies and crops the image to exactly the size you want. Or you can turn this off, it'll just resample the thumb to the correct aspect ratio.
It has an Auto-thumbs feature that a few people asked for. You can set it to make a thumbnail every X milliseconds and it will save hundreds of thumbnails automatically for you.
I did initially just make one post on the AB forums to test the market and try to see if was working well for everyone. But I was going to try and spread the word sometime soon. =) So try it out. I know it?s made my life easier as a webmaster and I hope it helps you.
Also feel free to contact me for any feature requests. Someone requested video splitting but I don't want to get the program into an all in one video editing tool. There's already some great video editing tools out there. And people like that this program is simple. I am however working on adding DVD support so you can seek through DVDs just like movie files to find the thumbs you want.
I?m also working on another project to get it ready for public use. It makes thumbnailed web pages like this: http://www.lickthis.net/_preview/ It has it?s own scripting language. Not too complicated. But very customizable. It?s also got the SnatchIt! features built in so you can pick exactly the right frame to use for a movie clip. For example of how easy it makes my life, on the URL I just gave you. If I want to make the thumbnails each 100x100pixels and change the columns from 3 to 4 and the rows from 4 to 3 and change the banner text up top, and make all the movies point to another .html file, I could do it in a minutes worth of work.
