Trailer parks for millionaires.

Haha this show is sweet, it's on Travel and talking about rich people and the trailer parks they are building and living in. Fucking crazy shit.

A lot of millionaires buy them, they produce a lot of money, but living in them, that's strange.

Doesn't surprise me. Most likely they're not real "trailers" like you think, but manufactured houses (the ones you see going down the road on the back of tractor trailers split into 2 or 3 sections).
You can order whatever the hell you want in those things - including marble countertops, hardwood floors, Moen faucets, garden tubs with separate showers, granite fireplaces, etc - and have it delivered in a week.
If they've already got one made up to those specifications, your house could be in move-in condition in mere *days*, rather than the 6-12mo that it takes for a traditional house with the same features to be built.

Manufactured homes, and even "trailers" (your typical 16' x 80' thing or double-wides) aren't what they used to be. Many of these things are *much* nicer than 'normal' houses running for twice the price.

I agree, trailer homes have come a long way. I've been through some model trailer homes at fairs and things like that. Once inside you'd have no idea it was a trailer.

IMO it's now by far better to live in a trailer than an apartment.

it's worse to live in a mobile home than apartment.
Better living, but the mobile home goes down in value
eventually you have to come out of pocket with $15,000, yeah that's right you have to pay thousands just to get rid of it.

A three bedroom apartment here will cost you minimum $750/mo. If you want it to be really nice inside like something you'd see in Better Homes & Gardens magazine, you're looking at $1500/mo.

You can get a 3 bedroom trailer where the inside looks like it came out of Better Homes & Gardens for about $36k total setup and delivered... depending on your loan that's about $300/mo. And you own it. (Plus you can take it with you! LOL!)

A manufactured home would be a bit more, $46-$70k.
My grandparents (yes one is still alive and re-married) came up here last weekend and were looking at mobiles and manufactureds. There was one 4-bedroom/2 bath with a separate den/office, and separate living room and family room, huge kitchen with a bar/island; manufactured home for $74k that was fucking gorgeous. Walk-in closets, bathrooms nearly as big as my entire kitchen... it was damn nice.
