Regsvr32.exe Help!

I bought a Comaq 1700 laptop about 1 year and 9 months ago.
I believe it was the first week or two that XP came out.
My computer worked fine for 1 1/2 years.

For the last 5 months my windows XP login screen got corrupted and now I have to click ok a couple times, and then I get a blue screen. From there I open task manager, and if I close
"Regsvr32.exe" I can get my desktop to load up
that is the only way to get the desktop to load.

Any idea how I can fix the corrupted login, and get it to book up correctly?

I had a similar problem with WinME...
Winreg32 has perfomed an ill.. blah blah blah.

Was the PE.Spaces.1455 virus :P

Now .. that only effects Win9x and ME...

What i'm suggesting is virus. ^^
Sucks i know, just bung in your NAV rescue discs and you'll be sorted in about 20 hrs.. [Took me that long to scan through about 120gb of files]

That is your registery that's acting out. You probably installed proggies or addon equipment and removed them in an unproper fashion. It is now looking for those items.

Try the system mechanic at iolo.com to fine tune your startup file and registery. I think they have a free trial.
