something is really wrong with my browser

Hi guys
I am really getitng pissed off with this. Recently when I browse ANY sits that has images a lot of times it takes a long time for them to load or not all images load and show up broken. I have used another computer on the same network and it has no problems so it can't be my cable connection I also talked to the cable company and they checked things out and nothing is wrong on their side. I have deleted my on/offline temporary internet files and the problem is stll here. The images sometimes take forever to load or else just don't load. I scanned for viruses with norton then also avg and it found nothing. If anyone can help me fix this problem it would really help!! thanks

Are you using a Norton Firewall? This will sometimes cause broken images...but should not effect the load speed.

happens to me if i use a proxy server and it goes bad. check tools-options-settings-connections and make sure proxy is unchecked.

I'm getting something similar. EVERY single mpg that I'm trying to download is leading me to a 404. I've been to about 10 different movie sites and opened galleries, none of them worked. The only movies that play are .wmv. I don't know what the fuck is up, but it's pissing me off.

try repairing internet explorer...
start->controlpanel->add remove programs->double click on internet explorer->select the "repair" option and click ok.

i had the same problem and this fixed it for me.

I am not using a proxy and I checked to make sure hhehe. I tried to repair internet explorer but when I go to add/remove programs on XP it does not have it there. It has somehtign called Internet Explorer Q818529 which tells me that if I click OK it uninstalls Q818529 and restores my previous configurations. Is that what I am supposed to do ?

you didn't happen to recently install a download manager did you?

A few months back, I was getting the same thing after installing one... can't remember the name.

Uninstall, and a minor registry change fixed it good...

search for the problem in Google Groups.... that's where I found the answer.

Using windows? Format your C drive regularly, i'm serious.

1. Maybe clean your cache and cookies. (works some times)
2. Run anti-spyware software.

Try Opera. For checking out my sites i use IE (and netscape). But for personal surfing i stick to opera. It hangs up from time to time but i am running windows, so i am used to it.

Looks link an Explorer update, you don't need to remove that.
