What the fuck?

god damn I hate it when you write up a big letter and then you get a freaking error shit if i'm writing that again.

Just go look at
http://www.blacksonblondes.com/password/?rid=a

Notice it now declares VERY CLEARLY at the top of the page the FULL PRICE the user is really going to be charged.

Nice to see this happening, luckily my sites don't have trials and kickass, this is sure going to put a sqeeze conversions for Universial pass type outfits and programs that trick customers to signup for shit they don't authorise.

Nice job Epoch.

oh yeah they're really worried about October, TWO pre-checked cross-sales to two other sites that don't even have URL's/domain names attached to them. I've never joined a site with these cross-sales checked, when does the poor shmuck surfer find out the domain names of these two fabulous sites he's being joined up for?

I love the Python scam where the front ends have different domains than the members area do so the victim.......er.....member is totally confused what site he is actually a member of.

A lot of sponsors at the top wouldn't be there if they couldn't have scammed for years and years. Hopefully their party is over shortly.

There's something seriously wrong when business models are dependant on confusing customers.

i went to our epoch join page. it now says this at the top:

Your trial membership for MILF Auditions - Three Day Trial Membership will begin as soon as your transaction is complete.
Your price is $1.95 for 3 days.
Thereafter you will be charged $29.95 for every 1 month(s) until cancelled.

notice that it doesn't mention you can cancel the trial. makes it sound like you can't cancel till you get charged monthly. also it's laid out in the most unattractive way you can imagine.

i see what they're trying to do, but perhaps they should be clearer for the surfers about being able to cancel the trials AND make the text look attractive so the page doesn't look like shit.

Wow I can't believe that. Pre-Checked, Double 1 day cross sells. Unbelievable. Looks like epoch is as risky, if not more, as ibill.

Epoch's marketing and sales tools have been more aggressive than other IPSP's. But that does not equate to riskier. There is and always has been full disclosure of terms, and, email confirmations of sales with links to Billing Support should someone want to cancel a trial. This works. Any program working with us can tell you.

Further, in cases of cross-sells other than Purchase Plus, the customer must validate the cross sell on an Epoch form by an active submission. Again, full disclosure of terms and email confirmations are included in the entire process.

Epoch has been fully compliant with all card association ratio's while incorporating these upsell tools. With the new ratios, a 60% change from the old ones, some of the features we were able to offer at 2.5% will need to be adjusted to meet the 1%. Since MC ratio's are already 1% and we are compliant, there is no reason to think the same can't happen with Visa. It will. Many prog's are already taking pro-active measures to insure their compliance.

Re-read our post regarding some of the changes we will be making and you will see that some of them don't take effect until July 24th.

You don't need to preselect crossales, people will automatically check them themselves if they know they are getting a great deal for them. We changed out the price point and people actually click them on their own, and we can barely see the difference from the number of crossales that were preselected to the ones that weren't.

but nobody will make any $ from them if they get out of compliance by screwing with surfers and lose their processing privelages, right?

after the wsb loss, I don't feel good about promoting anything that seems too risky in that sense!

edit: luckily triplexcash paid their affiliates for wsb, so not exactly a loss thanks to them.

Vote with your traffic, that's all I'm going to say. I've made it plain that I have no problems with IBill, CCBill, Jettis or Epoch for things that have to do with traffic that goes out from SB.

And we might chalk this up to my not having a cigarette for the last two days and feeling the extreme desire to beat something to death... but then on the other hand I really do get tired of listening to people bash Processor (insert name here) when they turn right around and use sponsors that are running big numbers through the very same processor.

The problem in this industry is easy. It's the sheer weight of the hypocrisy that drags it down.

Actually the stuff they're shooting now is better. They changed formats a third time about a week ago. The images are huge and high quality, better than any other interracial niche site I've seen out there. Have a look at the latest photo updates in the BoB members area and you'll see the vast improvement.

I don't know the story about BoB, like what they stole for content. But the most recent shoots they've done are incredible.

Sweetheart, Ibill, Epoch, etc stand to lose sooooo much more than ANY of their individual accounts do if the shit went wrong. Do you really think that anyone who's left is trying to go out of business?

Gawd, I need a cigarette.

Thats right Kimmy, everyone who makes money with Epoch Loves them. I'm doing very well with Epoch and will always have them as my primary sponsor.

If Epoch had any problem with the 1% thing there reaction to it would be a lot harsher than it has been. If they were out of complicance bad then there response would of been to kill all cross sells and free trials. But they haven't done that so it means there well within the rules.

Everybody who makes money with ANY processor should love them, especially given the crap that they go thru every day to keep a stable and profitable business.

All the hoopla about getting ones own merchant account is wonderful, if you dont do huge volume, never have any problems, know the guys at MC or Visa personally who are going to turn you off, or one of the other multitude of reasons I hear daily.

Bottom lines so simple.

This business is going to change and I think about 75% of the people in it will be gone by Christmas. The ones that are left are the ones sitting around right now, evaluating their businesses and deciding what to do. Of course the 25% that sticks is probably already the 25% making most of the money ;)

Not that I'm saying that the state of processor business is like a doomed plane or anything. Just a little turbulence before righting itself.

My evil Dan knows all the issues I have right now lol ;)

Re-read our post regarding some of the changes we will be making and you will see that some of them don't take effect until July 24th.
It's the 25th. I see double cross selling still running wild.

Epoch has done a great job for us and we are way under 1% On both Visa and MC

Yea I noticed the trial and full price membership was added to the top of the page.

thank god our's reads
Your trial membership for Wet Dreams - One Month Trial Membership will begin as soon as your transaction is complete.
Your price is $1.00 for 30 days.
Thereafter you will be charged $37.12 for every 1 month(s) until cancelled.

there is no reason for surfers to complain it's in plain view
same with the cross sales

they can check or uncheck cross sells and they get an email confirmation they can cancel from.

Just like anything else in life there is always an upsell

Do you want to super size your value meal...

I agree.. it is so shitty how the business has been ruined by greed..

I've never joined a site with these cross-sales checked, when does the poor shmuck surfer find out the domain names of these two fabulous sites he's being joined up for?

I love the Python scam where the front ends have different domains than the members area do so the victim.......er.....member is totally confused what site he is actually a member of.

And people wonder why Visa is doing what they are doing.
