vancouver show continued

i looked at the schedule of talks. looks very boring and the info looks old. sunday is a pointless day to attend. so convince me that there`s another reason to go besides the countless salespeople that will be bugging me.

my last show was AOE in amsterdam. Next show is florida. can vancouver compare or do i have to wait for vegas? (ps i`ve seen plenty of strippers, so that`s not a reason...)

thanks..

it depends on the planning.

if the right event planners book the right spots, the entire thing is very worth it.

Sorry pal, but I'm not out to convince you of anything... heck with an attitude like that, maybe you'd be better off finding something else to do that weekend

The seminars are a bonus.
The real reason to go is the people.
There has been a regular show in Vancouver for the past several years and each one has been MORE than worth the money.
Shows are what you make of them. Go in with a bad attitude and nobody will want to talk to you and it will be worthless to you.
Go in will a positive outlook and don't be afraid to talk to people and you will come away with something that a price can't be attached to: connections.
This biz is all about connections, and the shows are where you make them.

This is true, but some of the best connections, the best contractors, the best webmasters, and the best business can be with people who never go to a webmaster show or conference, it really depends I think.

actually, if you`re running the thing, then you should be out to convince me. If i was running it, that would be my job. Don`t get defensive. I asked what this thing has to offer. Is it going to be a boring geekfest? I can talk to geeks at my local bar without the plane ticket or the hotel costs. Hell, if its just going to be like that I`ll sit at home and chat on GFY...

so if you`re running the thing, tell me why i should go. Think of it as a challenge. What would you say to a potential customer if they asked why they should give you their money? Would you say you`re not here to convince them?

october - probably be in the caribbean. better than having a bunch of annoying salespeople pushing their billing systems and overused content on me. you people have fun. the picks looked pretty boring.

if you get to the amsterdam conference one of these years you`ll know what a good show is all about. what`s a webmaster conference without a redlight district?

I'd rather focus this show on giving people the tools and networking opportunities to MAKE money then just let them lose on the hooker district to spend money.

Also, these seminars aren't the typical sit around sessions while 2 or 3 people drone on about the same shit. These are roundtable discussions with actual conversation.

The processing panel is moer important than ever. By the time the show is upon us the new Visa regulations will already be in place and aren't you curious about what is going to happen next? Wouldn't you love the opportunity to ask the companies face to face what's going to happen?

We won't have any booths because quite frankly they are just an additional sponsors expense that don't produce as many results.

We're trying to offer an array of topics and educational topics as well as show webmasters a good time.
Example: the golf event. Here is a tournament that isn't just for the regular golfers. We'll be zooming around in golf carts giving away prizes for all kinds of crazy shit, so the guy who's never picked up a club will have just as much fun as te guy who golfs daily.

The webmaster dinner will be unlike anything at any of the other webmaster shows.

but, KimmyKim is right, if you go into it not thinking you're going to have any fun, you won't...

Education. Entertainment. Networking.

I am not out to convince you, as you are not a challenge. This is an event that is free for attendees and WILL be capped off once it hits the max that the venues will hold.

You seem to think that I am trying to sell you something but this couldn't be further from the truth.

I expect to see a smart, energetic group of people come to Vancouver and spend the weekend enjoying each other's company as well as having productive discussion and debate regarding many of the tough issues we're all facing right now.

There will not be booths, there will not be shitloads of content girls walking around passing out flyers every day and there will not be a big bunch of people standing around trying to figure out what a raw vs. a unique is or whether a cookie or an ip is a better tracking method. While there is a time and a place for booths and such, the group of people that this event targets couldn't care less about booths, they care about money in their pockets.

Someone is a little high on himself! Too busy thinking about hookers to actually contribute anything to the webmaster community.

Sounds like a winner!

Heya Zebra

Thanks for the support

You ready to challenge me on the golf course? I suck, but just might be armed with topless caddies and alcohol.....

Webmaster Summit is FREE? I was wondering why you didn't ask for cc info, I thought you were fucking up.

I am very curious what the sponsorship deal is. Cost? What do I get if I sponsor you? Please ICQ that info if you don't want to post it.

Yup, Webmaster Summit is free for all attendees (except obviously hotel, airfare, etc.)

We're providing a nice brunch Saturarday and Sunday and we'll have lunch served at the golf course and the webmaster dinner at one of Vancouver's top restaurants (and this won't just be a pizza and water buffet), so most meals will be covered as well.

We're still putting the final touches on our sponsor packet, but hit me up on email [email protected] and I'll shoot you over some sponsor info.

Of course it's free darling, you have to get yourself there tho

Get with Sykkster about sponsoring if you're interested, he can hook you up --

The idea of this event is to have a first class networking setup. If people want to play yellow pages roulette that's up to them but the goal is for the attendees to be able to sit down together and figure out strategies and ways to stay profitable in times like this.
