Just on the news, Blair didn't want the award (how do you call this??) for his support on the war in Iraq the US offered him, cause there is a big thing going on in England about them joining in the war.

Well I hear that people there are claiming that he lied to them and so on and so forth. Or is it because he didn't achieve what he promised?Originally posted by QuaShe

What Tony Blair did is really quite simple. The United Kingdom needs to have *some* allies. His political opponents have made it impossible for the UK to deal well with Europe. If he lost the US as an ally, his country would be screwed. So he had to side with the US. It's called foreign policy-- and Bush should buy a book or two on the subject.

The US is nobody's ally. They just do whatever they want. If the UK suddenly had a huge supply of something USA wanted, and refused to give it to them... then Goodbye UK, regardless of prior alignments.

Hahaha damn right.!
It's one thing for private (and somewhat anonymous) individuals to make fun of this 'Bush' character, but why won't any nation on earth put their fist down and run him out of his 'regime' ?
Because he'll bomb the shit out of them...
Dictatorship?

The UK has always been fairly-to-strongly allied with the US. And vice versa when the big boy was the British (once independance was out of the way). We've never ever been *that* closely allied to France and Germany etc. although obviously interests converge from time to time.
The crunch time is when/if we join the Euro. Even tho the UK economy is tini compared to the US, it's still the fourth largest in the world and having sterling consumed by the Euro will boost the Euro and pressure the dollar. That makes for an interesting future re: the two countries relationships after that. Would we goto war partly to protect the PetroDollar at the expense of the PetroEuro if we were a Euro country ? Interesting question...In 1904, Charles Newman-Berry connected two abacus's together using specially enhanced GrapeVine thus inventing the first Internet connection.

Yes well of course if UK joins the Euro, the USA will be pissed. But to be honest, the USA has way too much of the world's wealth. particularly if you look at the money spent on the recent war. And, has it made a noticable dent in their economy? Nope. So, what it boils down to is greed.Originally posted by scooby doo as scooby does

Could you tell me where in a dictatorship the dictator is limited to 8 years of leading at the most?
I know alot of people are angry with Bush cause they disagreed with his stance.
Saddam was playing games, he had nothing to hide but decided to mess with inspectors anyway, for what?
He was breaking the new resolution. Black and white he broke the resolution PERIOD this point is not even to be debated as it was proven time and time again, by the UN.
Looks like he wanted the war? Might have been crazy enough to think he would defeat the colalition. Maybe he thought that it would be the start of the new Holy War against the US.
Who knows, but why fuck aroudn if you don't have anything to hide?
Just because Germany, Russia, and France dont agree doesnt mean its wrong.
I am one who stands behind the leader of my country even though I voted for Al Gore. This however is rare in the US now adays unless someone blows up some buildings.
My point is everyone stop whining about Bush and Blair, if they are wrong they will be held accountable. They will not be elected again.
Worse comes to worse the Iraqi people can run their own country from now on.
Also remember the USA protects its interests, here are a few of the interests of the USA, Allies safety, OIL OIL OIL OIL, Army bases in countries we help, PEACE, I know Bush haters will say PEACE GET THE F OUT OF HERE, but ALL PEACE Comes from the end of WAR!
Thats my rant!<a href="http://netverifier.com/getpaid.asp?siteid=10018799"><img src="http://www.skyweb.net/~kgosselin/banners/newbanner.gif" border="0"></a><br><font color=white size=2> We provide the content to keep your members sticking around!<BR></font> <font color=white size=3>$45.00 per sale!</font>Comment
