Can someone explain to me, why do Americans ALWAYS drink alcohol out of these red cups? Is it the law or something? Every American movie I have ever seen, everyone is drinking out of these exact same cups, it is doing my head in.

They're used a lot on Independence Day parties - hey, that's today - so they come in red, white, or blue.

yes most clubs in north america have plastic cups so when there is a fight people can't break each other's head with them
a lot of times they even put your beer inside a cup too

I was surpised too when I first came here because in europe that is pretty rare
