Go to http://www.cruel.com/ and search for "spam". If you can find the page with the guy explaining the "black hole" spam blocking technique you'll understand what's going on. It's not pretty.

I <B>hate</B> spam but I hate some of these Nazi spam blocking services just as much.

There's one of five posibilities...

1. You spammed.

2. Someone complained to spamcop about a legitimate email. Spamcop doesn't verify that a message actually is spam, it just goes on complaints.

3. Someone forged their headers on their spam to make it appear that you sent it.

4. You're running a mail server that allows relaying.

5. You got fake spamcop message. A few months back we got
dozens of fake spamcop messages a day, appearently someone was trying to get revenge on spamcop by sending out bogus complaints.

It means you are running an open relay.

Before I posted this as an answer I tested your mail server and it is in fact an open relay.

Need to tighten up your mail server so it won't send out mail you didn't authorize.

How can it be extortion , since the use of all these block lists are voluntary?????? Apparently an increasing number of ISPs who use these lists by choice consider the SPAM problem serious enough to justify it.
