The only thing that gets me into a halfway average sleep cycle is a trip to the gym every morning at an unreasonable hour... which is about the time I fall asleep at the moment.

If I can sleep from 6-10 am every day I could do more than get by on 4 hours of sleep a day, since that's my prime sleep time.

Of course I also think nothing of staying in bed on a weekday til 3 in the afternoon...

If I have an early flight I try to go to sleep early, it just never seems to work.

Nexpectation Jay and I were just talking about this the last couple days -- about every ten days or so I generally stay up and forgo sleeping one night to try and even my schedule out... of course the last time I did that I still ended up staying up til 4 am knowing I had to get up at 8 and hadn't slept the night before...

UGH.... APPOINTMENTS!

Appointments are BRUTAL on me. Especially ones that I *have* to meet/go to. They are like the ultimate sleep pattern fucker-upper for me.

I could be on the PERFECT schedule and be maintaining it for a couple weeks and then *BOOM* outta nowhere comes an appointment.. and then of course the night before the appointment, ZERO chance at sleep.

Doesn't matter what the appointment is for. I think it has to do with it being a invasion of my independence or something. :)

Straight guys that are super good looking, always treat women nicely, are always fun to be with, and worry if their asses look big in their jeans are most assuredly gay.

I'm afraid I'm disqualified.

Too bad. We have so much in common...
and just when I was starting to feel a connection there too. :winkwink:

I don't remember saying anything about worrying about their ass size. :1orglaugh But you're right- any man who does all that is either 1) gay, 2) already married, 3) a myth. That's why we get stuck with all the "gym" ones. :winkwink:

Or... 4) someone you haven't slept with (aka "gotten to know") yet.

We can be pretty misleading at times... then again, so can women. :)

Still.. the whole first 0-90 days of a "relationship" (probably average around 30) is a pure sham anyway.

That's why I only date geriatric hookers. No games :thumbsup

I am with you on this one. Unfortunately most of my appointments involve a trip to the airport in order to keep them so I don't have a lot of room for error... if I lived any closer to the airport I'd be using the employee lounge to shower ;)

I'm laughing at the relationship talk... I think the worst mistakes made in relationships are when people forget what they've told themselves they needed to be happy, and they compromise too much. For instance let's say you had decided you never wanted to move from where you lived, you didn't want to live with someone you were not married to, and you didn't want to date someone in your industry. I think my idea of a great long term relationship now would mean living in the house next door to my significant other. ;)

I only work from 10-8 thats it now, otherwise it gets you down

I'm laughing at the silent insider stabs :)

But I'm with you on the neighbors thing... so is Damon Wayens acutally. Him and his wife are neighbors I think.

This winter I ended up sleeping regular from about 6am to 1pm, that seemeed to work ok; the extra daylight throws me off I think when I try sleeping at night I always get up after 5 hours and I end up needing a nap around noon to keep on functioning. Very weird.

Jakke PNG 07-02-2003 05:29 AM

I'm not a morning person. IF I didn't go to school I'd stay up until 6-7am and sleep until noon. That would be perfect for me, unfortunately I can't do that all around the year.

Join the club bro. Actually, I think that every North American on the board at this time is like that as well.

Now, you must excuse me as I try to reverse my schedule and try to sleep. Wish me luck.
Can someone please explain to me why I'm in Australia and up for most of the night to work with you guys in the US and you're apparently up and working in the regular business hours down here?

Apparently everyone needs stronger drugs.....

Hahaha, I can admit when I make a mistake, especially a big ass one ;)

The house beside me isn't for sale but the one across the street is ;)

a relative just gave me some of these:

http://www.my-ambien-rx.com/

had a really good night's sleep, but only taken it once so far.

melatonin is good but sometimes causes really vivid dreams, and if you're too stressed out I find its not so good hehe

sure, it's been discussed before. and i've been happy staying up all night for many years. my entire adult life i've always cycled through sleep patterns. basically add an hour to the time i go to bed and wake up every 24 hours (from the day previous).

but when i want to actually get on a static schedule for whatever reason, i simply can't.

damn :glugglug

having the same problem, and I desperately want to get back on a normal sleep pattern...

natas 07-02-2003 03:40 PM

my sleep patterns are messed up too.

My head turns on about 11pm onwards. I like "click" awake and there's no way I can get to sleep then until 5-6am.

Been like it for years, from way before I got into porn.

I bought my first pc with my student loan over 10 years ago, left university a couple of days later, then taught myself to use it by staying up all night. (only time I would get any peace living in the crazy house that it was lol) Got into the "get up at 2pm, go to bed at 6am thing" then and haven't really altered since.

Sometimes I try and fight the sleep thing, other times I just go with it. If i want to get up early in the morning I really, really, have to force myself to do it.

I like the night time anyway, it's nice and peaceful :) No door, no telephone, no kids playing outside, no cars. Easier to work :2 cents:

goBigtime 01-20-2004 10:51 AM

Once again the parents were wrong about staying up past your bedtime.

This is the stuff fairy tales are made of...

:winkwink:

I was really off schedule for...oh..about 8 years. Then a couple weeks ago, I took a real vacation to the keys. Stayed on the ocean, got a lot of sun...didn't stress over much of anything. Started getting up at about 8:30 every morning. So far it's been almost 3 weeks. I'm going to ride this wave as far as I can. :winkwink:

DWB 01-20-2004 01:07 PM

I feel your pain. My sleep is fucked, and to add to it I do a lot of international travel (about every other month) so I am always crossing time zones, sometimes as much as a 12 hour difference if I am in SE Asia.

I honestly have week long periods where I feel like a zombie and if it were not for the sun, I couldn't tell you if it was day or night.

Right now I am on the 5am - noon sleep pattern. :-(

But god, when I do get a good sleep... pure bliss.
