                          It's possible, but for competitive keywords, you don't have good odds. Obscure keywords like "free double anal midgets rectal insertion" you might rank well even without links. You'd need to be very patient though since Google tends to spider sites from links much faster than their submit form.

                                                              Generally all of today's search engines use a variance of the google pagerank algorhythm. It basically says a document's "importance" is determined by how many, and the quality of the pages that link to it. This pagerank factor is a mulitiplier of the pages content, which then gives the final results.
